I have a 2020 Ram 1500 Classic Tradesman with 7 Speed fan. I bought a 8.4 Uconnect screen and installed it with the harness for the ac adaption. But now it only blows defrost and at the feet not in the vents towards you. Anyone knows of a way to fix this? Maybe the wrong climate control module.

Did you also buy the HVAC module? Where did you get the harness from?

I bought an HVAC module off of Amazon but I got the harness from the person I bought the screen off of. I had bought the hvac module and it didn’t allow me to go up to 7. I took the hvac module from my 2018 Rebel and it fixed that problem so I’m ordering that model. But it didn’t fix the defrost only blowing.

There are a bunch of cheap Chinese knock off 8.4 conversion harnesses flooding various sites (eBay/Amazon/Temu) that aren't made correctly and cause this and other issues. I'm out of town for work until end of next week, but if you want a harness set without issues, send me a message and we can get things started for when I get back (still depends on having compatible parts for the rest of your upgrade)

Others will also tell you that buying cheap aftermarket / knockoff modules for these trucks is crap shoot for sure. These trucks are very picky about the electronics / modules and such.

In general, buy genuine Mopar electronic parts.

Will it work with a used module or does it have to be new?
Used parts can be used for this upgrade and I'd say the majority of folks who perform this upgrade source nearly everything salvaged except for the custom harnesses made by M2Mods (forum member/vendor @Mpgrimm2 )

The trick with used parts is making sure you get the correct ones, and that they function correctly. I'd generally rather see genuine used parts vs new knockoffs.

A have seen several customers lately that have gotten bad harnesses (Amazon/eBay, & InfoT, etc), with used or incorrect parts, that have kept throwing money at their upgrade before they finally message me and get what they need. The upgrade is basically an 'if this, then that scenario' and what works for one person's truck posted on Fbk, etc doesn't necessarily match another. This is the reason why I don't have the website setup with a direct click n buy option vs a quote link to get info and questions about each person's truck.

If you'd like a correctly made harness and proper support send me a private message/conversation to get things started or submit a request via the M2 Mods site below.

Would a climate control module off of a 2014 2500 laramie longhorn work on a 2016 1500 express with your harness adapter for the upgrade

PS: If you swapped an interior dash harness from another truck (ie Longhorn) with the dash/dash pad to do your 8.4 upgrade vs proper conversion, you will have issues.
