Thanks for all the answers and for your question.

Mirrors from 1Aauto - Trailridge - 400.
Driver door module - used - 69
Passenger door module - used -39
Door switch - used - 28
Support brackets - 38 new - This was just for the brackets. I have a rivnut gun and bolts so I did not have to purchase these separate.

Alpha OBD - believe it was 49
Bluetoth module 79 same one that is recommended on Amazon

Do you have a list of the part numbers for you purchased. Thanks

Mike,

I know this is an older thread but was hoping you might have some infromation I am looking for as TRQ/Trail Ridge was little help.

2014, 2500, Factory Power folding (non tow) mirrors. Was looking to upgrade to power folding tow mirrors. I purchased Trial Ridge TR00083 and reenforcing brackets.

What were the door modules you used? What are the modules/ what are they for? Were the modules the power door switches in the door panel or something else that enables proper mirror function?

Alpha OBD, I assume you used that to program the PCM? Where did you get the vendor codes and what did you need them for?

I was hoping this would be an easy swap (and maybe it will still be) but trail ridge said no go can't upgrade.

THanks!

I can you some partial answers as I just don't remember the part numbers, but, to that point, its all here on the forum. Literally everything you are asking for can be found on this forum within the 1500 section as that is what I had at the time of the upgrades. Specifically, a 2015 1500 BigHorn. There is a pinned Alpha OBD thread that has all the known codes as well as all the part numbers and how to do's listed. You will need to find the switch module that has the button to retract the mirrors. The modules are located in the doors and have extra plugs to accommodate the harness for the power mirrors. Once everything is installed you need the Alpha to tell the BCM it should recognize the new items.

Since you already have operational Power Fold non tow mirrors, popping in power folding tow mirrors (power extend is not available) should be a non-issue, as your modules are there, BCM is programmed for them and the door switch has the button already.

The new ones may need to be re-pinned at the connection to make them pin to pin compatible.

I just wanted to add my recent experience to this for those looking to upgrade from standard factory power folding mirrors to power folding tow mirrors. If you buy the trail ridge mirrors, I cannot speak for other brands, they will send you a kit to upgrade from non power folding to power folding no matter what you currently have. You need to cut the two wires and remove the pins from the connector going to the door module for the power folding function on your old standard mirrors and install them on the new trail ridge harness connector. Rather than using their provided aftermarket fold switch just cut that out and splice those wires to the wires you re-pinned. I believe they are a yellow and blue and just provide + or - 12V to the mirror to fold in or out. Because you already had power folding function there won’t be any additional programming needed unless you want the mirror adjust to function properly when the tow mirrors are flipped up.

My truck had the standard power folding, heated non-tow mirrors. I bought the 1A Auto mirrors and everything worked. No flashing required. The only thing that doesn't work is my remote buttons aren't correct with the mirrors flipped up. I think AlfaOBD can fix that though.
On another note, one of my mirrors stopped folding in. Called 1A Auto and they sent me a new pair under the honor system. Sent the old ones back after I had the new ones on. Great customer service!
