planning on buying vararam air grabber, moes 87m TB, and BT catch can all in one go!! however i have the dreaded hemi tick. tomorrow i am goin to change the oil and treat the engine in the hopes to fix the annoying tick. if it works i feel it will only hide the problem though. what are yalls thoughts.. should i wait a bit and take the truck in or would it be fine as long as i can fix the tick?

I'd wait. What oil are you gonna use? And have you ruled out exhaust blots? Do a search titles only Hemi Tick, very many threads on this.

yes i have heard the bolt issue. afraid that might be the case. i was just gonna try the oil change just to see if it was enough but if it turns out to be more then ill have to wait. I'm going to to try penzoil platinum 5w30 full synth and a coworker recommended try lucas oil along with it. thoughts?

Please don't use that ****, and kick that fker in the balls as well for even mentioning it. Your oil choice is ok, if you have the extra dough you might want to try Redline, it has about an 80% success rate against Hemi Lifter Tick, including mine. Check out synthetic oil thread. It is science, Redline has the most moly then any oil, read this. Run with a synthetic filter and go 10k miles fairly easily.

Let us know if the characteristic of the tick changes at all after your oil change.

Read this whole thing, learn what condition his oil was in = lucas.

I was gunna say the tick (if its the manifold bolts) is covered for 100k or 5 years. But if yours was out of the warranty (like mine) I'd say headers :)
