We’re certain you’ve heard of the Takata Airbag Safety Recall and believe some of you are hesitant to get it completed. It is urgent that you take the necessary steps to repair your affected vehicle to ensure the safety of you and your passengers. In a minor crash, the front airbag(s) on your vehicle may explode due to excessive internal pressure. If this happens, a rupture could result in shrapnel and sharp metal fragments striking vehicle passengers, which may lead to serious injury or death. FCA will repair the vehicle FREE of charge (parts and labor). If you haven’t completed this airbag recall, please share with us why. We care about your safety, and want to understand how we can help to get this addressed. To check if your vehicle is a part of this recall or if you need assistance scheduling an appointment, visit recalls.mopar.com, call us at 1-833-585-0146, or send us a private message. We look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Had one 2-3 years ago on my 2003 Ram. Called the dealer and had them put me on the list. They called me when the part was in. Pretty simple process. Just lots of waiting. I don’t think I’ve had the airbag recall on any of my other vehicles.

What years are included here?

Also would like to know what years are affected.

Good morning,
I apologize for not including that in my original post. The identified populations at this time, specifically for our Ram trucks, are 2004-10 Dodge RAM. You can check the link I have provided above in order to see if you are part of this recall.

like i said in my other post on the 3g version of this topic, i havent gotten this done and probably wont, simply because no dealer around me makes appointments for any service items, ive tried in the past for recalls and they always say "just leave it here and we will get to it when we can" which im not willing to go without my daily drivers for days, if this was really as important as you make it seem you would think you would require the dealers to make appointments so that people can wait on their fix to be done and not have to go without their vehicle, i mean yall have called me so much about this recall that i have put all yall on my blocked caller list but the fix cant be done within days of getting it to the dealer, that doesn't seem right

also you say this goes from 2004 to 2010, but ive gotten calls about it for my 2013 and my old 2014 that i sold 2 years ago

I also have an 08 Wrangler Rubicon with the recall. It's been... 3 years?... and the dealer still doesn't have airbags :(

it took my dealer a month to diagnose a fuel pump failure, i dont know that i trust them to actually install an airbag, i wonder if they will send me the airbag and let me take my truck to a competent mechanic to install it, or even let me do it myself

With all the problems you have had and the disconnect you currently have from your dealership have you thought of just using some other dealer to get better service. Even if it’s a little out of the way as long as your getting better service I would say it’s worth it.

Just saying I’m not sure if this is an option for you

sadly, that experience is with the best dodge dealer in my area and thats over a 30 min drive away, i actually love the dealership, i just hate the service department, while the tech that worked on my vehicle was a complete moron, the front end of the dealer took care of me by giving me loaner cars off the lot instead of making me go through a rental company

Just called the phone # listed and checked on my 2018 Ram 1500. After running the VIN the FCA lady gave it a clean bill of health. Courteous and pleasant on the phone, and I like that !

I had to take my 2006 to a dealer about 40 miles away to get one day service for my airbags. It is amazing that recall work isn’t taken serious in some dealerships.

I've had them both done. Air bags scare me anyway, but shrapnel bomb air bags are just the worst. I dropped mine off, took the shuttle home, and they picked me up when it was ready. Fairly painless. Hopefully the "new" style have fixed the issue.

Well, hopefully, you wont get into an accident just to find out if the dealership dirtbag installed the airbag correctly or not.
