I have an 01 Ram 3500 V10, with 206k miles. I was thinking about changing the timing chain, and maybe the oil pump while I was at it. I don't know what kind of oem chain and gears it has, but I was assuming they are one of those "silent" type sets. You know, either nylon coated cam sprocket, or those chains that stretch. So I was thinking of a double roller timing chain set. Now Summit sells a Cloyes for the V10, but it's like $220! Is that just the Viper "tax", or is it a total one-off? Since the V10 is supposed to be 360 small block + 2 cylinders, could you just use a double roller for 360 for $50? I've tried searching the forums, but haven't found anything about it.
