Looking at a vararaam or s&b Intake. Curious as to anyone’s experiences. I did have a vararaam on my 2013. But still interested in other reviews.

Ultimately it’ll come down to which one you like the looks and sounds better from. Both will likely give you the same tiny performance gains. I had the vararam for a while on my Rebel, sold it when I found a kayak I wanted. It was a cool intake, sounded great, MAYBE some performance improvements but got a good deal on a kayak so the intake was the first to go.

Love my vararam. The only way I'll get rid of it is if I go blower or 6.4 Intake

I choose the Vararam intake over the S&B due to the look. Both have great reviews but the classic look is awesome. I can't say I noticed any performance gains because I didn't even have a thousand miles on the truck when I put it on. It gave a little deeper sound but not enough for my liking so then I added a Borla muffler in place of the stock one. I dont think you can go wrong either way though.

In Mesa (according to your profile), you'll probably be fine with either. For the 4th gens, the vararams seemed to have a bit more variation in build quality, but there are many fans over there.

In the northern areas that have winters, the vararam was also known to occasionally clog up with snow (and when it melted, uh oh). Then again, only some reported that issue, and others had it much more minor or not at all. YMMV. My conclusion was that the S&B is a better choice for places with snow storms, and that is why I had it for my 2014. (Looking to trade her in here soon.)

If you're in a location like yours that does not have snow, either works. Pick whichever one looks the best to you.
