Vehicle not in park evic message.

So today I stopped off by a store , exited the truck while it was still idling ( didn't turn off)After 5 mins got back in , put it in reverse to back out of parking stall, then put it in drive and move forward and message Vehicle not in park displayed on evic display. The message and beep continued as I carried on driving. I eventually within 2 mins stopped, switched the truck off and back on to remedy the message.
Any reasons why it would do this? I did notice my driver door wasn't fully closed during all this. But that normally shows as door not closed on the evic. Cheers.

Do you know if your doors were not closed all the way? I think that message appears of the door sensor thinks the door is open.

that is correct if a door is not closed all the way you will get that message.

Is this message specific for the drivers side door? Since normally if a door isn't closed properly the evic shows an image with a message saying door open or something, never seen the vehcile not in park one before. Hence the original question.

That message (to my knowledge) only comes up when the driver's door is open, so you don't get out of the vehicle while it is still in gear.

Mine has only ever come on when the driver door is open and vehicle is not in park.

Same. Door open unless it’s not in park and then it’s says... well.. vehicle not it park.

My big surprise was finding out that it would throw your truck in park if you were moving with the door open and seatbelt unbuckled... maybe just in reverse. Then you get the flashing R
