I have a 2016 dodge ram 1500 I would like to add Bluetooth to it. It is an express model, It has power windows and rear view mirror has back up camera. Don’t want to get a plug for the aux port. View attachment 239450
You can easily upgrade to the RA2 with Bluetooth if you want. You will need the radio, 13 to 16 speaker rear view mirror which you can find pretty easily for around $40 to $50 used. Mirror harness which is around $30 new plus you will want the Bluetooth steering wheel controls button which is around $45. This is all plug and play once you get all the parts. You can also upgrade to the steering wheel audio controls at the same time since you would already be working on the steering wheel anyway. You can buy the kit for this from Benny @AllMoparParts.com who is in the vendor section of the forum. There are no extra codes or any other modifications necessary for all of these features to work exactly as factory. If you decide to go with the RA2 it's best to get one from a 16 or 17 Ram with the same number of doors as your truck. No luck just tried and there’s nothing about Bluetooth on screen or on the phone
OP has a RA1 radio that does not have Bluetooth...
The earlier 4th gen trucks equipped with the 3" non touch screen radios were Not Bluetooth capable as far as sending and receiving calls. The picture he posted of the radio in his truck does not have Bluetooth. They are referred to as the RA1 radio by FCA. They didn't even have a microphone mirror. The 5" touch screen radio is Bluetooth capable and is referred to as the RA2 radio. The 8.4" non Nav and Nav radios are are also Bluetooth capable and are referred to as the RA3 and RA4 radios. I belive the later 3.0 RA1 radios did have Bluetooth phone capability so it can be confusing.RA1 means nothing to me. That truck has Bluetooth capability from the photo the OP posted. If you cannot pair it, it's simply user error.
Key on the truck and select media
Select Bluetooth symbol to pair
Add device
Then go to your phone under Bluetooth settings
Select Uconnect
Verify the 6 digit pin
Pair
Your welcome.

None taken, I'm not sure if it's just a misunderstanding of "Bluetooth" but the radio he posted a picture of in is original post was not a Bluetooth capable radio as far as sending and receiving calls. The second picture that was posted was the RA2 Bluetooth capable radio. They actually make a kit to upgrade the RA1 to Bluetooth. I looked up the interior for a 16 Tradesman equipped with the RA1 radio and it was also not Bluetooth (phone capable). You can see the the truck has no phone control\voice control buttons on the left side of the steering wheel and no microphones in the mirror. The pictures of the steering wheels I posted were from a 2016 and I also posted a picture of the Bluetooth hands free kit needed to uograde the RA1 to Bluetooth.

Lol that's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is he can't send and receive calls via Bluetooth with the RA1 radio which is what he wants to do. This has nothing to do with listening to music via Bluetooth.
