There must be several configurations on the cabin air controls.

The 2015 Express has manual cabin air controls.

Noticed when the center knob is set to coldest position, the discharge air
is much warmer than ambient temperature.

What's up with that?

Might want to check your left temperature control actuator/motor. This controls the variable temperature. It is behind the glove box and to the left.

Since it is a 2015 just take it to the dealer and have them check it, it may just need to be reflashed.

Already took it to the dealer.
Service said it was normal.
Have measured the fan discharge temperature to be 20F greater than
outside ambient, using very accurate portable pyrometer.
The recycle button is not lighted , therefore in non recycled mode.
Was asking the forum if this condition is normal.
Seems like if ambient is 50F, then discharge temperature should be also 50F with temperature control knob positioned to the coldest position.

There was another thread about this. I have the same experience. It's as if air is still passing over the heater core which warms with engine temp. The "cold" air coming in is no where near ambient temp once the truck is warm.

Nekozame:

Exactly!

The air intake opening is on the passenger side adjacent to the windshield wiper, but below the hood when the hood is closed.
At highway speeds the front louvers close to block ambient air from passing through the radiator to reduce wind drag.
The air intake air source is stagnant from the engine compartment.

In my opinion the fresh air design really sucks.
Believe the aftermarket folks should be all over this thing.

Don't believe the AC should have to run when the ambient temperature is 50F and coldest
non AC temperature position is supplying 70F air to the cabin.
