On my previous vehicle I had AVS in-channel vent visors and really liked them so I thought I would add that as option on my 2015 Sport. I spoke to an aftermarket specialist who suggested weathertech because of the slim profile that wouldn't interfere with the automatic pinch feature.

I tried installing them yesterday - based on the destructions, installation was simpler than I thought. The front went in super easy as well as the back - but......

When I tried to roll up the rear window to seat the visor, I heard a snap. The window closed so I assumed it was just settling into place.

I then went to roll up the front windows and same thing - crack. But this time, the auto down pinch feature activated. I could roll up the window with the visors installed - it would close, but the window would never seat in the channel properly. Never had that issue with my AVS ones.

I removed them only to find out that the snap had broken some of the in-channel flange.

My question is this, on the instructions is shows to place them along the fuzzy portion of the door seal. The back has double sided tape on a couple spots so it seems odd to have the tape that would attach to fuzzy material.

The only other place I could see it would work would the the thin seal that runs right next to the metal on the door. I've contact weathertech but haven't heard back so thought I'd check here to see if any fellow members have them installed.

Yes, it's on the fuzzy material. When closed, the window touches the visor. I've installed the Weathertech visors on 6 of my vehicles so far, and never had a problem. It should just slide in, and go. Sometimes, when first installing them, the window does auto-down, but if you stop just before it's fully closed, and move it the last inch or so very slowly, it goes without a problem.

I had trouble with the front pass. window and I attributed it to "installer error." It took a year before it would close properly (without auto-down). There is a slight increase in air noise past the windows, but I don't consider it objectionable. I much prefer the in-channel design.

I have had them on the last couple of vehicles I've owned and never had any problems. You just need to close the window the first couple of times slowly to make sure everything is seated properly.

Funny, I had the exact issue using the AVS in-channel. I went to WeatherTech and had no issues. Yep, fuzzy material>plastic>window.

Thanks everyone. Yeah, maybe it was installation error and me rushing to put the windows up too fast and not allowing everything to seat properly. Still wonder about the "sticking" capabilities of the double-sided tape and fuzzy material though.

I had them on my Dakota for about 17 years. My truck was never in a garage. My PT Cruiser had them on for about 15 years. Also, no garage. The Dakota was a two-door, but the PT had the front and back window visors, and they never fell off.
