Weird sewing machine noise

Go to your local Canadian Tire and pick up one of these.


Well i checked the driver manifold bolts, was able to turn them quarter turn and some more. (These are brand new) I know the torque spec is low. Did a road test and it was louder. Started scratching my head a bit.

I did notice the steering wheel grommet there. Looks like theres 2 pieces one outside and one inside . I played with it while the wheel well was off. Then i decided to check inside the cab. There it was, the inside grommet wasnt pushed in. I clipped it back in , went on a roadtest and no more sewing machine in the cab.

Did the manifold bolts make a difference, not sure. I think it was just the steering grommet that wasnt pushed in properly.
