My 2013 1500 5.7L 6 speed has 1300 miles on it now. I have always heard a high pitched whining sound while accelerating slowly in the 20-40 MPH range. I also here it in that range while maintaining speed. Any idea what that noise may be? I tend to think that it's something to do with the idle or parts related to the idler. Maybe something just needs some lube or spray. I'm no mechanic though.

This part may be unrelated to the above sound I'm hearing, but the truck also seems to be very sluggish when i take my foot off the pedal in the 20-30 MPH range.

I took a ride with a tech at the dealership & he told me there were no bulletins on it. Told me to come back in if it gets louder.

Any help is appreciated.

I find mine does the same thing URdone21.. I've asked a few times at the dealer about this and I get the same reply. Personally I do not think it is right. I have about 4000km so far on my new one.

Do you find also that the truck's shifting is a bit off? Either it cannot seem to decide what gear it wants sometimes??

Could be the tranny line by the radiator that needs foam on it. There is a recent thread about that. Has pics and everything. Very detailed thread. Mine does the same thing, almost like old school alternator /stereo noise. The sluggishness might be you TC locking up with engine at too low an rpm to pull effectively. Mine does that too in some situations. You don't have ur mds turned off because of no tuner so that will make it feel worse. Its trying to pull from too low an rpm probably. Just a guess.
