yesterday while on the interstate, i was going to pass a slow car and when i got in the passing lane, i noticed the lane was going to end, so i floored it, and there was a strong vibration from the truck. i kept it floored and it eventually the vibration stopped and the truck took off. it lasted for maybe 3 seconds or so. I was doing about 50 when I floored it. it was almost as if something was stuck while it was vibrating, then after it loosened up, the truck took off. pretty weird.

then this morning on my way to work, i was testing it out on the interstate to see if it'll do the same thing and it didn't do it every time i tried except for once. what could this be????? :hmm:

Did you try to recreate it to see if it always happens

yeah, on my way to work this morning, i would floor it and the trucks takes off just fine. tried it multiple times, and it worked great, except for once, when it did sputter. when it started vibrating that one time i didn't let off the gas, then it just snapped out of it and took off like normal. kind of worried

Check your drive shaft! Also the universal joint! Some of these trucks have been known to drop a driveshaft now and then.

true... and also from what ive seen driving my 08 hemi and this one is that these trucks dont like to be stepped on from high speeds like that out of no where what i do is if im going to floor it ill put it in manual mode and select the correct gear then get on it

Is it shaking like theres something wrong with the drivetrain/suspension. Or like the engine sputtering and shaking because of bad gas or bogging issues?

How lomg have you had the tune?

You may wanna conact Hemi Fever. Maybe your leaning out, and he can adjust the curve? Im really not sure though.

When you filled up, was the tanker at the station filling up the under ground tanks? Some say its bad to fuel up when they are. Because it stirs up the sediment in the tanks. Not sure if its really true or not. But I stay away from stations when they are.

yeah i've heard that too so I stay away as well. also i don't wait until i'm empty either because i hear it's not good to fill up on a completely empty tank.

sorry for reviving an old thread, but i had an update that i thought i should share. turns out it was my driveshaft causing the vibration when accelerating from 45-55 mph. i had a buddy of mine pull out my driveshaft and taking it to a shop to check to see if it was balanced and it was off .004 (not sure what the unit of measurement is), and according to the shop that was significant. they balanced it for me for $50, and my buddy installed it again and viola, no more vibration.

Big thanks for Trupiano for initially stating that it could be the driveshaft, and a big thanks to Matt (Hemi450hp) for pinpointing oh what could've caused it. I was picking his brain about it and he mentioned that sometimes when lowering these rams, it throws off the balance of the driveshafts and that's apparently what happened. the shop that balanced my driveshaft asked if i had a lowered vehicle (since they didn't see my truck, only my driveshaft), because they notice this happens many times when lowering of trucks.

just thought i'd share this in case you run accross this with your trucks

for sure man..... i'm glad it wasn't anything major, and even happier that it rides smooth now.

I may be grabbing at straws here, but could this also be the case for the "death wobble" some people experience when lifting? Or is that something completely different?

hhhmmm, not sure, but i'm thinking it could be the same. i would think that the same theory would apply with either lifting or lowering. is this "death wobble" experienced when accelerating? does it shake when your floor it, then runs smoothly, like it snaps out of it?

Mine has a little shudder to since lowering it, JUST at the hit of the throttle. Real easy starts for about 10 '. My Chevy did the same thing after lowering and it ended up needing more pinion angle (3 degrees down) fixed it. Was gonna try that im the Dodge too.
