The placement of the hood badge looks nicer on the Rebel and Sport models.

Well on this forum in this thread, I don’t consider 60% who voted “like the new look” as doing well. I have read much other dislikes in other places as well. I will actually be surprised if the new Ram wins truck of the year for 2019.

I agree................but it doesn't matter what you consider, it has already been polled elsewhere and won. That is why I said what I did.

What I think matters is the sales numbers, and RAM was the only brand of the big 3 to have lower sales than last year in the second quarter.

Imo the new body style is already dated since it looks so much like the Toyota, its not the new fresh body style they were going after.
From the way it sounds the interior is whats selling the trucks not the outside.

Honest opinion...bring back the signature crosshair grille and it would be perfect. These trucks look like FCA has really been listening to their customers needs/wants and built a new model to reflect that.

Agree about the interior, that's what sold me. The exterior is growing on me although I still like the look of the 4th gen better.

I am still waffling on getting rid of my 2500. Because damn, if does look good and it is a good truck.12ff9f746dbde0453ad6ff2e08d5cf20.jpg

Just wait and see what they do with the 2500s. Jmo If they stick the 8sp or 9sp in the 2500s it will be a game changer for them and I bet the new body style is nicer looking or looks more like a truck.

Personally, the 4th gen truck hit it out of the park when it came about. It’s such a beautiful truck. Sometimes, I say if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. However, most people want that fresh look to make it look new, so we have to keep changing things to make it look new again. On the 5th gen, they redesigned the chassis for the better. They improved the interior. They made the cab bigger and the rear box taller. Even the hood changed, but I like it. That’s about where it ends for me. I watched a video, where a Ram representative talks about the changes. One change was about the wheel wells. They got rid of the rounded look and mixed it up with the 2nd gen look to give it some vintage look. How is this new? They changed the rear bumper and made it with a step down. Ok, this is fine and indeed a new look. However, his next comment was that they removed the cameras from the molded in bumper and put them in the plastic at the bottom of the bumper to clean up the look. Really, this looks cheesy as hell and they ruined the look of the cut outs for the exhaust. They couldn’t even get the molding of the front bumper to align with the body correctly. The headlights on all models look crappy and so does the rear taillights, especially the black ones on the Black Appearance package. Add all that chrome to the front and it just kills the look. I’m not a hater of the 5th gen, I’m just stating what I currently don’t like. The truck is growing on me, but only with the Black appearance or Sport look. No chrome for me! I could also change out the bumpers, headlights, and taillights to get a better look. I look forward to what the aftermarket creates on these parts and am anxious to see people install them on their trucks. Eventually, I will buy a new Ram, but for now, I will wait to see how they respond with the 2020 look and what aftermarket parts has to offer.

As someone new to RAM, the crosshairs never appealed to me and I’m glad my 19 doesn’t have them. I am surprised they didn’t at least offer some trim package or option with that look, though.

I haven't been a fan of the 19 but I saw a 19 rebel in red and black on my way to work today and I think it looked pretty nice.

I love the new look. I am keeping my 2017 for 20 more months until my daughter turns 16 and then I will be trading it in on a new 2500 Cummins and getting her a car to drive. I can’t wait to see one of the 5th gen 2500s in person.

Something about the front end not really matching the profile of the truck.....at least for me, mostly the chrome. The interior is class all the way and as many have noted, in solid colors (no chrome) they look great. Someone posted a yellow 2019 with black stripes and blacked out grille.........I'd buy that look in a nanosecond-it looks balanced and bad ass.

Like this gap where that wraparound meets the bumper curve, I believe that’s the issue he was referring too

I know.......I wouldn't be surprised if RAM puts factory packages like this together to compete with the fresh offerings from Ford and GM. This would be a winner, especially with the 6.4.

I would buy that just to match my Iowa Hawkeyes license plates.

It looks like a big car from the front. They lost that "Big, Mean Truck Look". It looks a lot less distinctive. Looks like everything else.

This is just me, but I hate chrome. Always have. To me, the new front looks a lot better either black, out the same color as the rest of the truck.

I'd buy one, if I wasn't still very happy with my 11.
