I am so pissed right now. Maybe someone here can help.

I bought new tires (Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ, 35x12.5 R20) last week from National Tire and Wheel at Bloomsburg, PA. Got an awesome deal. They mounted and balanced all 4. Only thing was, they didn't balance them right. All the way home was bouncy, almost 200 miles. I had them re-balanced this morning. 4 out of 5 places would not touch them. The last said they could. $15 per tire.

There is a hub cover in the center of my wheel. On the inside of that there is a wire ring that helps the cap stay on more securely. This guy lost that ring, told me there was never one in there. (I put the tires on a week ago, I know it was there) Now I may have to buy new caps for about $15 a pop.

On top of that, 3 lug locks were sort of ruined, so I was gonna buy a few new ones, no big deal. I go to put them on at home... that ******* stripped on of the lug studs. Then they tell me "they are not really responsible for that".

I am so pissed at this ***** effer. Does anyone know where to get these lug studs from? It's for a 2006 Ram 2500. And is it easy to replace it? Its on the right rear.

Already called them. I am going back there Monday. They don't even have the tools to fix it neither.

Wheel studs are a few bucks a piece , and easy to change .
As far as the centering ring on the wheel .. those are to be taken out as they are guide rings to aid in the process of making the rims ... robots ..cnc machines ect use them .

Thats some bs man. They should totally be responsible for that. And dont have the tools for wheel studs? They are just pressed in. If he has a hammer and an impact hes set. You pound the old ones out and use a lug nut to re press them in. At least thats how I've always done it. You can buy them individually at napa.

Well, I am going to Napa tomorrow. Hopefully if I can give it the old college try, I can fix it tomorrow.

Only thing was, free mounting and balancing in PA. Would have had to pay more here. They don't like it when you buy tires somewhere else and bring it to them for mounting and balancing.

Well, not too bad actually. I bought a new lug stud for $20. I went back the tire place and the owner was there. They ended up cutting about 1/4" off of the lug. He told me that the lugs were long enough to cut, and hold the lug lock with no problem at all.

Only thing is now I am gonna order new hub covers. Because they lost that ring, I gotta get new ones. But the plastic chrome plating on them was chipping off anyway. But the tires feel good and the lug locks are on nice and snug.

They were glad that I gave them a chance to correct the problem. But I still won't be using them again, just because.

glad you got it figured out.
when it comes to car/trucks you cant really mess things up without something real bad happening. i used a shop to put new tires on, on my way home i get a call " i forgot to tighten the lugs" went back and never saw them again. they mess up one time i never go back.

^The sand bags are also pretty good for balancing. Truck shakes like a **** till the bust and work correctly.
