Made a 7 inch infotainment system for $20 that boxes right over top of the existing radio using some velcro, dense foam and 3M tape. Running full Android 6.01 and Android Auto UI, Bluetooth, data, and GPS, and voice controlsd46f3d5dce637359d14ebffffb816c67.jpg

Installed my wheels and tires. 22"x10" hyper black hellcat replica wheels and 305/40/22 NEXEN - Roadian HP tires.

Wow those look good. If you don't mine me asking, how much did your wheel tire combo set you back?

I'm now wondering after doing a Google search if I shouldn't use my new Samsung tablet in my truck.

You certainly can, the only thing I'm missing right now is hands free phone. It's doable, I'm just missing a component I have to get still to make it work.

But the only reason I did this is because I already had a 7" tablet laying around unused. If I didn't, I'd probably buy an Android Auto compatible Pioneer or Kenwood rather than spending the same amount on a new tablet and then turning around and doing this with it. I know my solution is homemade and inelegant but it was basically free [emoji6] If I was going to spend money, I'd go for something more integrated. The one advantage I have with it besides being free is that it attaches to the truck by velcro so if the software ever glitches all I ever have to do is peel it off and take it in the house to fix it. If the hardware fails well, 7" tablets are very inexpensive to replace. Some people actually directly install tablets as actual head units with wiring and all but that requires know how I don't possess, and a willingness to buy all the parts required on top of having to mod your dash console shape. I basically did this because just buying a tablet mount still shows all the unused radio and the aux cable underneath and I didn't like that.
