Quick question that I've never understood, why is the flag always backwards on the passenger side???

supposed to imitate the Flag blowing in the wind....

Now the real historical reason why they are that way is because the flag should always be in front of You (stars in front) so that you are not leaving it behind.

Is it a military thing??? I was always taught that the flag was always suppose to be displayed with the stars in the upper left hand corner when facing it....

Guess I learned something new today, thanks!!!

There was a big flap about it years ago when Bush was photographed wearing a military jacket at an over seas military base and the flag on the right shoulder was facing "backwards" (in accordance to what you were taught). The issue was stopped when a military tailor chimed in stating that the flag is meant to look like it is being blown by the wind as the wearer is walking forward and ALL military uniforms that have a flag on the right shoulder were the same way.

Ary regulation 670-1

The regulation states that when authorized for application to the proper uniform the American flag patch is to be worn, right or left shoulder, so that “the star field faces forward, or to the flag’s own right. When worn in this manner, the flag is facing to the observer’s right, and gives the effect of the flag flying in the breeze as the wearer moves forward. The appropriate replica for the right shoulder sleeve is identified as the ‘reverse side flag’.”

I wondered cuz I thought I remembered that military uniforms are that way..... so is it a "military" only type thing or should anyone wanting to display the flag on their truck do it that way???

The fitment isn't terrible. The only place we had issues was under the taillight at the corner by the tailgate but a heat gun fixed that. We ditched the tape for small pop rivets. 7 across the back, 3 down each side of the bed.

Have her her first bath. Came out nice. I'll be debadging the sides a bit later today.

What's the best/safest way for the paint to debadge?

Also, how do I get this crap off the tires? I scrubbed with a soft scotch brite pad, and you can still kinda see it.

Thanks in advance!

I've read on other forums about people having success getting grease pencil markings off using a Mr Clean Eraser.

Got my cover in. Maybe 5 minutes to install. Looks like good quality. Can't beat the $229 price tag with 10 year vinyl warranty and lifetime on the rest of it.

Loving this cover. Withstood Tropical Storm Irma's 40+ mph winds and 12+ hours of rain. No water in the bed anywhere. Can't beat that for $229 via Amazon :roflsquared:

The people that owned the truck before me drilled holes in the fender and didn't seal it. It caused rust to bubble up.

I sanded it down and installed ebay fender flares after color matching them. Not too bad for $125.
