Found A deal we could not turn down to repair and sell a 2004 ford f150 lariat 5.4 needs a timing set done and possible heads reworked not fully diagnosed it yet seller wanted 2,000 we offered 1,500 to see if he would take it and to our surprise he did drove a hour to get it. I like ford to just the ram got to pull the ford this time View attachment 531038 View attachment 531039View attachment 531040View attachment 531041

As long as it doesn't have the typical frame rot that's a great truck.

Since the hood ditch light mounts did not work out for the CB antenna, put on some Rigid D-Series Pro Spot pods. Had the same on my Jeeps and was too lazy to take them off when I traded the Jeeps in on the truck.

Ran the wiring just below the rear hood seal

I cleaned up the left portion so there was not a gap. Used 1/2" wrap for 2 wires and it puckered. I hooked up all the cables to the aux power connectors previously. I used the same loom to dress them up and just pointed them down

Wife had to take a quick pic for the only time the vehicle infront of us would not get lit up. I didn't get a chance to do the pods only. Rigid D Series Pro Spots, Rough Country X5 20" Lightbar thru dog nose art and dirty assed windshield. Left Pod needs to be turned out just a lil bit more

Since there are 2 cables from the Lumenix Beacon, I used the same HF loom to wrangle the cables into a single cable.

They rot mid ship from the inside out. A tap with a hammer will tell you. I've repaired a few. Dorman makes "sleeves" that cover the length of the from between axles and gets welded in. The boxed frame design traps dust and moisture that rots them out. Hope yours is solid which it looks like it may be based on the bed to cab gap.

Just got done pulling the front wheels to install Centramatic self balancers on my 2018 dually. Seems to have smoothed things out a bit. I left the Wheel weights that were static balanced on the inside. Directions I got didn't say to remove them or not. These fit both ford and Ram so don't freak out because of the label. The one set of holes lined up perfect. They make them for the rear too along with many other applications including trailers.
Also checked brakes, flushed the old brake fluid since it showed 1% moisture, and cleaned the inside of the front aluminum wheels. I used Adam's Wheel cleaner. That stuff really works with minimal use of a brush to work it in.

Got it on sale at Vevor. $89. Look them up if you got some money in the piggy bank. Looks like they're having another sale on them now. I could really use another. It works great even picking the dually.

The cheaper option says they're being discontinued so now might be a good time.

Picked up two 5 qt jugs of Castrol 5-20 Edge extended (20,000 mile stuff) on clearance at Advance for $18 ish a jug and did an oil change. All the 5-30 was already gone, so went with the “factory recommended” viscosity. Came at a perfect time as I rolled 4900 since last change and I don’t go over 5000

Sold the chase rack.
Took off the old flares.
Installed a new set of Smittybilt M1 flares. I'll spray them somewhere down the road as they're currently tan.
Moved the 6" lights back the front bumper.
Installed the WildTop soft topper

Getting ready to install the RTT today or tomorrow.

Got another set of power stop rotors and pads (previous rotors from unnamed shop were painfully warped after 10 months). Only got 1 more payment till this puppy is all paid off, so I said what the hell. Got some proven ground caliper covers. Couldn’t be happier with them. The red really pops with the black wheels. Recommend for anyone with custom/black/gun metal wheels.

I've got a small winch and battery setup in the bed of my truck for hunting. I've been charging the battery up using a standard 110v charger, and would only need to charge it about once every few months since the winch doesn't get used that often. I did however need it a few weeks ago and the battery was dead or the terminals were so corroded it couldn't power the winch. I thought about buying a solar charger and putting it on the roof, but wasn't crazy about that idea. I've always tossed around the idea of charging off the trailer hitch like trailers do but couldn't figure out how to do it. Until, I realized they make inline extensions that plug in between the plug and bumper plug to run a long extension up to the bed for a gooseneck setup. I had to depin the harness to run the wire through a small hole (just big enough to fit the wire loom), but once I did that, I was able to re-pin the connector and just plug it all together. I bought a 7 pin plug and just wired it for the ground and aux positive connections using 10ga wire. Wrapped those 2 wires in loom and connected the ends to the battery. I'm going to add a fuse to keep the system safe.
All in, less than $50 in the setup and it's all plug and play.
