This morning I filmed a walkthrough video of my Rebel stereo system upgrade. I review what speakers i use, where and how I ran my wiring, and a deep dive into my custom subwoofer box my son and I built.

Hope this helps some of you with your stereo builds!

Attempting accent colors that are not chrome but look good on the all-black interior AND on the Maximum Steel Metallic exterior. Genesis for this was the freaking FAIL of putting high-shine chrome surrounds near the windows causing a lot of glare, especially right over the side mirrors from the AC vent surrounds, and the windshield from the center radio surround.

These were really easy to pull and paint. I’d REALLY like to do all the speaker surrounds, but I pulled on em and I think I’m missing something as far as attachment points (anyone chime in if they know how to remove the chrome speaker shrouds).

I really like this color and I’m going to eventually do the front chrome grill this color too. Might even tag the wheels if the black plasti-dip fails, and maybe the tailgate RAM.

@Waterfowler41 You make quality DIY videos. I watch em and I don’t even have a 1500. You have better camera work and audio than some of the famous automotive related Youtubers I watch. Keep it up!

@Waterfowler41 What he said ^^^^^ except I own a 1500 Limited. Some stuff is different but interesting and well documented.

Ill be one of the first to admit I hated the looks of the 5th gen (still do unless they have the sport package lol) but damn it I changed my mind..

Goodbye ol girl. 3 years, 40k miles running up and all down all these states for work it was time plus the deals going on and I was constantly seeing 5th gens god was teasing me!!! From all those long drives I realized what I needed and wished I had with my 4th gens but buying used I had to settle at good enough .

Not this time. I was set on getting a Bighorn, Ibuilt a few with the options I wish my express had from the factory. Spent probably a week searching cars/autotrader etc could never find exactly what I wanted and I wasn’t going to settle. Lack of Ram box equipped trucks out there and didn’t want etorque which seems like everyone has. Spoke with my pops asked Big Horn or go Laramie for what I call a work truck since that’s what I drive when I’m working on the rod, he said Laramie lol. That guy.

Was set on driving it to LA Saturday or Monday and working a deal on a few trucks that checked all my boxes but decided I’ll stop by the local dealer and see what they had for me.... this was the one.. got a good price, paid off what I owed on the old truck and more importantly got out of that high interest rate that I took at the time with my bad credit to a low 2.29 with Navy fed.

-sport package (I don’t do “chrome”)
-3.92
-Rambox
-No etorque
-12” screen
-Laramie level 1
-Doesn’t have the larger gas tank or pano roof but these where the options I cared less about.

Installed the ProClip phone mount kit in my Rebel. When I added the Trigger wireless switches I love most one of my USB and phone spots so needed to rehome my phone. Also makes it easier to use the trigger Bluetooth app for my lights.

Installed my new B2 Fabrication SS Magnaflow Retofit Exhaust system.

How much louder is this system versus stock? I’m getting the itch to put a kit on mine (much to my wife’s dismay) and am just starting to look.
