Agreed, or maybe even an xm antenna leaking issue? I thought I saw a few people that had issues with them on here. Either way, would be weird for that much water to "leak up" like that.

And if that's the case, maybe look for a better dealer cause this one seems fixated on just replacing the window each time.
Yep mine was the antenna on roof that was the culprit. Dealer could find it but I did while washing truck and hey satellite antenna was moving around. Haven't leaked since

caught mine before it leaked. Dealer tightened it for free.

This may or may not be possible. I do not know. Seems to me the logical thing for ANY dealer to when the complaint of a roof leak comes in would be to remove the headliner, or at least lower it enough in the rear portion of the cab to see behind it. Then, using a hose, start pouring on the water until they could see the leak.

The way that stain looks it is entirely plausible that it is the rear window, especially if you're having this many problems with it. If you've ever had a flood in a room and seen the drywall the water will spread its way up the wall. It's basically the way water molecules adhere to each other and how they move whether just running on the ground or absorption in a material. Sorry you have such problems, good luck.

I purchased my 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman brand new from the Dodge dealership. Nothing but issues. The biggest one is the rear window. The original had cracks on the moulding ( the plastic kind of rim where the top meets the headliner where the rear passenger airbags are located above where you would sit) so I brought it in because I noticed that when I washed the truck the rear passenger door was leaking. I assumed it was a seal on the door window. The technician ended up finding the leak on the rear sliding window- I didn’t see it. So okay. They take a steam cleaner or something I assume to the headliner and “clean” the stain- it was still visible to me but we replaced the window and I’m so tired of the headache of having my truck in, I decided later I could clean it better myself. So get the truck home with the new window and it pours so I go out just to check and lo and behold, it’s leaking. I’ll attach a photo of the headliner but I saw it and I full on said this is not acceptable and I want this replaced. My truck smells wet, my seat has gotten wet and they don’t seem concerned about the fact that the stain extends out past my airbags and speakers there. They say that if there were a problem the code would come it. Sure trust my passengers airbags to a “code”. First dodge said no replacement for the headliner, but they’ll clean it. Now, I’m waiting on a THIRD rear window, the last took 2 months to come in. They say this second one I had installed by DODGE had a hairline fracture. Nothing touched that window. Not the original, not the second window. So I suggested that maybe there was something wrong with the frame of the truck? Like why are my windows cracking and leaking?!!! I’ve been so understanding with the service ladies at the desk because I’m sure they deal with unhappy people a lot but this is ridiculous. I had the blower motor replaced because it constantly whistled. They replaced it and the noise is back. I bought the extended warranty for the truck but at this point, I want a Ford and I’m contemplating losing the money on this truck I bought brand new. What are my options at this point? Do I want another Dodge? Not really TBH. I hardly have this truck anymore. It’s always in the shop. Now it’s sitting here at my place getting wetter and wetter. Probably for another two
Months until I get another faulty window in. They’re lucky I have a little car but it wouldn’t even start this morning so now I’m forced to use this truck and put more kilometres on it in the meantime. What would you guys do? I’m so tired of this. I was so excited for my first new vehicle and I wish I had never laid eyes on it.

thank-you! I’ve been very calm at the dealership with all of this. The service ladies are constantly thanking me for being so patient. I don’t want to be that nasty screaming customer and I haven’t been. I do feel like I should push a little more however and I contacted the ramcare Today and explained what was going on with them so I think it was a good push in the right direction. When I put through a request with service to have the headliner replaced, they came back saying it could be steam cleaned and no replacement would be offered but as it is through no fault of my own this damage, I’m not going to accept that this time and I think that’s reasonable. Ramcare seemed understanding so far so I feel like it could be promising in the future.
I wasn't professional w ram care bc I was angry. Changed my mind and my attitude after a different + better RAM dealership/service stepped in w ram care. They fixed everything. Hope ur truck gets fixed. Smart taking pics i think ur truck needs a new headliner esp if it doesn't look right. Try a different place u can go to any dealer/service just my opinion good luck

I wholeheartedly concur with Mattcham. Third brake light leak appears to be the culprit....
How can the 3rd brake light cause water damage like this-water runs down-this seems to be coming from further up-I am thinking its from the roof antenna or if he has roof clearance lights which I doubt.

It's not the truck(Ram) that's the problem here, it's an incompetent dealership service department. For probably everyone of these stories that gets posted, there is probably 50+ trucks that don't have any problems.
I like the people that rant saying they're never going to buy a Ram again, little do they know there's someone else saying the same thing about Ford, GM, etc...the culprit behind the complaints..the dealership.
I agree- when I bought my 2012 Ram Bighorn-my buddy bought an Ford f150 and we have been comparing ever since. Maybe I got a really great Ram or just average but I have had O issues--His Ford f150 is already rusting in the usual spots and has had to have the twin turbos replaced

That is what I would do if out warranty(makes sense)--If under warranty I would want a new headliner and assurance that it is fixed.

Warranty or not, this seems to me to be the best method of locating the source of the leak. Once the source has been determined, leave the headliner out or, if not fully removed, in a position to test the “fix” to insure it’s actually fixed. New headliner? Absolutely!!! that’s why I believe it should be removed to begin with. And left out until the fix has been proven.

Water wicks up. Doesn’t mean it’s not the antenna. Just means it could be the high mount light on the back of the cab or the back window. Pull the headliner out, pour on the water until the leak appears, fix what needs fixed and install a new headliner. C’mon Ram! Do the right thing.

This is a common issue with the 2019 and maybe the 2020 new bodystyle Ram ! Check out the YouTube Videos on this subject !!!

I been there myself and had dealership resealed the 3rd brake light, drop headliner and check out the sharkfin antenna for leaks (nothing!) but then they checked out the rear window frame surround and had 2 hairline cracks which led them to order 3 windows because the first one was non-heated, 2nd one was cracked (glass), and finally the 3rd was okay ! Took a month sitting at the dealership ( which pissed me off but I didn’t buy the truck there and my work keeps me busy over the road as a truck driver so I didn’t mind as long as it was being fixed correctly. 3 months later and all is good on my 2019 Bighorn !
All of these new trucks are very similar in design and they all have similar problems so no use in running away from one to lose money and deal with the same problems with another !!!

Thanks- yeah, I’m just waiting to hear back from RamCare and I think I’ll try a different dealership. They’ve been really nice but at the same time, I’m not sure exactly what the leak is all about and where etc. and it’s also got to get fixed! Also my air conditioning didn’t work today. Not sure if that’s to do with the blower motor issue as well, I’ll bring it up with RamCare when they get back to me. Just bad luck, I guess. Thanks for replying!

Yes totally true, but when I requested they look at the airbags and speakers in the area of the stain as I was worried about water being anywhere near those, they said that there would have been a code on the dash. Which makes me think that perhaps they haven’t looked under the headliner. I could very well be wrong, it’s confusing when you don’t see what exactly is happening with the truck and it’s such a busy service desk as well. I’ve contacted RamCare so I’m hoping they’ll help
Me resolve the issues. It’d be best to take it to a different dealership, which I didn’t know in the beginning, so hopefully I’m on the right track! Thanks for replying!

I know it is very depressing right now, but I am hopeful they finally get it all resolved, and soon. They do need to pull the whole headliner to ensure water and stains are cleaned properly, has to happen to prevent mold growth. You will be able to see it all then.

Third window leaked. They’ve discovered it’s the rear brake light AND the antenna. Odd how I said it was that after the first window replacement. I mean hey, it’s common on all of these 2019’s but meh let’s just put three windows in. Air conditioning had to be replaced. Blower motor they apparently didn’t close the cabin air filter- just waiting for that beastie to start screeching at me again. I asked for photos of the leaks from the brake light and antenna. Tech was too busy to take them and forgot or something. Contacted ram care a second time but they never returned my call so they got an email from me telling them how incredibly unprofessional that is in itself never mind the rest of this garbage and oh yeah never heard back. Dealer calls me yesterday to ask if the truck was leaking after they put some silicone or something in the leaks until the parts come in and I just said, I dunno, does it matter? But yes, it’s leaking all along the back of the liner. No replacement headliner is going to be offered but we’ll just keep bringing truck in and steam cleaning it. I had them do my yearly detail that I paid for when I bought the fancy package and everyone acts like it’s some sort of a favour they’re doing me. I’ve lost the will to give a hoot anymore. I’m just saving up the next insurance payment on this wonderful ram that I don’t drive anywhere but the dealer. Living the dream.

I just bought a 2019 ram bighorn with 31000 miles 4 months ago and I'm experiencing the leaking back window/ cracked frame. My warranties won't cover this expense. I shouldn't have to shell out the money for this expense since it's obviously a manufacturing issue. What to do now?
