WD-40 is not a lubricant....They now have a lubricant in their product line but the original WD-40 isn't it.
WD-40 is for water displacement.....I used to use it on distributor caps back in the day when they got wet inside.
It still worked, tho. But true, I probably woulda been better off using some rattle-can white lithium grease, or some PB blaster but that stuff stinks and and is as messy as hell.
I did buy a can of that gel WD-40 so when the squeaks come back, I’ll try that.
