What is easy way to get a basic hexagon grill insert?

I have a Laramie and therefore a chrome grill. I want to get one of the black hexagon grill inserts that come with the lower trims because it looks to me like it will flow more air. I'm towing at the truck's capacity so I need all the airflow to the radiator I can get. I checked around ebay and a mess of aftermarket sites and what solutions there are seem awfully darn expensive because they want to sell the whole grill.

Who sells just the black hexagon insert? The mopar parts site is a mess.

Maybe I can find someone that wants to swap grill inserts?

Buy Partslink Number CH1200327 for approximately $60, remove honeycomb inserts, and throw grille in trash.

Install honeycomb insert into your grille.

Profit.

That's what I did, anyhow.

What year is your truck? Mine is a 2014. I'm only seeing references to 2009-11 for that part #. Maybe the part is compatible across all 4gen trucks?

Do you have active grill shutters?

Dont they close at certain speeds, so it won't matter what grill you run the air is still going to get diverted up.

Correct- only works for 09-12 trucks.

I do have active shutters. That's not an issue tho. When coolant temps go high the shutters are fully open.

The Ecodiesel turbo is water cooled, so coolant temps are high when towing.
