Every automotive manufacturer recommends them, but after researching this forum people say it can actually cause problems to have it serviced. I just got my first truck, a 2017 RAM 1500 Laramie with 50,814 miles on it. I want to take care of this truck properly and have it last 10 years without issues. Does anyone have any perspectives?

IMO they recommend it because they can charge you extra $$$ for it aka an up, power flushing so can loosen up bits & pieces up that are stuck is a safe place and with them floating around can damage internal and or clog up fluid passageways thus you wind up with major damage to your trans. Also many don't even bother to change the internal filter that needs to be changed every time you service the trans & some need internal adjustments that can't be done if the don't drop the pan...
