What is this?

I'm a newbie to the RAM world, so forgive my quite possible dumb question...

Just bought a 2018 Limited a couple days ago, and been familiarizing myself with all the various options... I can't figure out what this lighted toggle switch is for! It looks kinda after-market like, and I've played with it with the key in all positions, and see no difference.

Thoughts?

Looks like an aftermarket switch that someone wired up for lights or something. Extra backup lights? Anything hiding behind the grille?

I assumed the same, that it is a custom add-on the previous owner had installed. I have scoured the interwebs looking for pictures of this specific area of the interior of the Limited trim, and the very few I could find didn't seem to have anything like this that I could see...

I'll get me a spotter to stand out back and see if anything happens when I flip the switch...

Just a LED rocker you can get at Advanced Auto/Auto Zone....Probably easier to remove that lower panel and just see where the wires go off the back of the switch.

Yea, probably is gonna be what it takes to figure out my mystery. Was hoping I wouldn't have to rip it apart so soon after getting it, but guess we shall see...

Brought my oldest outside and he sees no change both on the rear or front. I'm guessing it's either involving towing, or it's not attached to anything anymore...

It's the switch for the conooting valve.

It's only a few small screws at the bottom of the panel and some clips that just pop out. Quick and easy

Its probably for a light bar that the previous owner had.. he took off the light bar but kept the switch on after he priced out how much an interior panel cost.
