I've got this little piece of metal it is cylindrical about 9 mm in diameter and 17 mm long. It has a notch down both sides lengthwise. I can't seem to get my laptop to transfer photos so I tried to describe it. It "seemed" to appear from the front of the engine when I took the front cover off, maybe oil pump area? I don't know. Anyone want to venture a guess?

This is a US based site,so for the most part you're better off posting in inches/feet etc..Hell i'm Canuck and if i was really interested i'd look up how long your measurements are,but i'm not that interested to spend the time to convert your measurements to something i can relate to.Just saying :Big Laugh:

Since it is close to the same diameter, I think everyone can visualize the 10mm socket they once had. LOL!

Thanks, I have both dowels where they should be. The little piece, I found on the floor when I was tearing the engine down. I can't see any obvious spot for it so it might not even be from the engine. I'm having trouble trying to post photos so I tried to describe it. Diameter is about 5/16 and length is just under 3/4 inch it has 2 grooves opposite each other.
Thanks.

Well, your friend trudeau the dead, gave us the metric crap back in 1977 or so. I guess being an old timer, I can switch or figure the approximate measurements fairly quick.

Divide by 25.4 for inches
Multiply by 25.4 for mm
Now you need a calculator Rick.....LoL
He's older then dirt and me,so he knows what inches and feet are. :Big Laugh: I'm just to lazy to do the conversion to something the majority of us on here know:waytogo: I know the conversion factor ,but to lazy to do it mentally ,the smoke in the air is making me snarky today:Big Laugh: If he takes a pic of it ,he should be able to get it on here, hell even i can do that, and i'm putor stupid:Big Laugh:

Well, I'm not going to argue but with you but, after the last update by microsoft, I lost a few features and I'm having a heck of a time getting them back.
It is ok to throw rocks, I have thick skin.

Windoze 10 or 11?

There are simple methods to regain control of the device you bought and paid for.
My PCs are updated when I choose, and only with the specific updates that I first approve of.

I own my PCs, not microsoft.

I still have an XP, which I loved, but 95 was the best.

I learned much more with Windoze 2000 and believe it was far more stable than windoze 95 ever was.

You could modify 2000 without too much grief, whereas 95 barely functioned as it was intended without huge hiccups.

The Blue Screen of Death became popular with windoze 95. LOL

Windoze 98 second edition left windoze 95 in the dirt.

Having let loose with this Windoze rant, I should add that the modifications available to Windoze 10 & 11 leave all those ancient operating systems in the museum.

If anyone is motivated to not accept this MS BS and monopolization of their PCs, you too can learn to make your PC function how you prefer.

Google is your friend, as is tenforums.com and elevenforum.com where anyone can receive great support and guidance.

I guess I was lucky. I never had a second's problem with 95 or XP, and much less intrusive snooping.

I'm far from knowing a lot about operating systems. I just want it simple, and to do what I need, which isn't all that much.

I hate whem my work computer updates (Windows10)

I lose all my preferences, homepage, search engine, etc. It's really annoying. And we have a service that adminstrates it, so I cannot change it.

Yup, agree 100% .... 95 and XP were good. The intrusion that we are subjected to today is over the top. Apparently W 11 is even worse.

Well, I have a love / hate relationship with my computer..... about 98% hate. I use it because in today's world it is a necessary evil. I signed up for a course to learn more last year but it was a disorganized cluster (put your favorite word here) ... I didn't stay long.
