So, I'm thinking of ditching the vacuum assist brake master setup and going to a hydro-boost. This is on a 1995 Cummins. I'm wondering if anything else needs vacuum on this engine. It's too cold to go out and look. I guess I need the vacuum pump gear drive, but is there a way to eliminate the pump? Or I suppose I could just cap off the pump and not use it. Anyone?

AI is amazing. I assume this is correct.(?)
On a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.9L Cummins diesel, the vacuum system is essential for operating the brake booster, the 4-wheel drive (4WD) actuator, and climate control (HVAC) vent doors. A vacuum pump, often combined with the power steering pump, generates this vacuum to ensure proper brake assist, 4x4 engagement, and air selection.

The mode doors on the climate control system are definitely dependent on the vacuum system to operate.
