What size socket

2002 Ram 1500 with a 4.7l engine. Does anybody know the size socket needed to remove the crankshaft bolt. I have a few tools for repairing the motorcycle but not sure if the crankshaft bolt is SAE or metric.

What started the question of "what size socket", I tried to use a 21mm and this was too small, tried a 22mm and too big. My SAE sockets same issue. Now mind you my brain sometimes is a little slow but during the evening I kept saying something is not right.



It turns ouit that I have a mis-marked socket that states it is a 21mm but in reality is a 19mm. Opps from the manufacture.



The crankshaft bolt requires a 21mm socket for it removal.

And to top things off, there are actually a couple of half size metric sockets out there for certain applications on some vehicles and Dodge is one of those. Like it isn't bad enough for metrics and SAE's lets really screw with people and come out with half size metrics!

I believe that is the (excuse the spelling) a Wentworth size. Basically a British size used on British cars and motorcycles from back in the 60's and 70's.
