Currently running valvoline 5w 20.

What kind of addictives do you recommend to use To help try and clean it any sludge or crap.

Same for cleaning the tb. I usually do seafoam. Would like to see if there's any other brand to use1c8b214304442865f8950694a4eadcf6.jpg

Asking what is the best oil around here is like asking "how do we solve climate change?" You are going to get a ton of different answers, and none necessarily wrong.

Many prefer Redline and Amsoil. Personally, I am a Pennzoil Ultra Platinum guy. Mobil 1 was the old standard, many still use that. You'll find others use Pennzoil yellow bottle (regular "dino" oil), Royal Purple, Castrol, and many others I am forgetting.

Go over and take a look at BobIsTheOilGuy forum. Tons of info there. Make a decision, stick with it, and be happy. Or change your mind a few dozen times. As long as you are happy, that is what matters. Regular oil changes/maintenance is more important than what you use, as long as you stick to the recommended intervals (or change earlier than them). I change mine every 5000-6000 miles, even though I use synthetic.

I'm a **** when it comes to doing any kind of pm is there any threads for service intervals? I never received an owners manual. And I'll have to take a run over there and check it out. I just don't want to break the bank as it has cost me 1000$ in parts in front end at 90k in that time I ran through two sets of tires. Seems every time I turn around it's something new. I've been easy on her compared to some of my old rigs.

But now I've accumulated the hemi tick that has gotten worse and worse as the mds seems to not work the way it did when I bought it at 70k. I'm gonna pull it in the shop after work tomorrow and change the pcv check both manifolds. I see that some are running 5w 30 is there any kind of downfall to this? I'm trying everything I can to get this problem I'm having solved with sheer luck

I use Pennzoil Ultra Premium full synthetic & PurolatorONE Oil Filters and change every 6000 K miles

I also put in a OCC that saves about 4 to 6 ounces of oil getting dumped into my intake every 2000 miles , not really sure if it makes a difference or not, but makes me feel better :favorites13:

What does that run you per change? And should I maybe stay with conventional oil trying to see where the notorious tick is coming from. I'm not to sure yet haven't had any time to take a stab at it. After work today is the day

Depends, sometimes it is on sale, typically around 32 to 38 for a 5 quart jug, I try to buy like 4 or 5 of them when I can get a good price

Filters are like 7 or 8 bucks a piece

Mine ticks when it fires up for a second or two ? just figured it is normal ?

i have red good things about redline and quieting the engine. just make sure you have the normal semi tick and not broken manifold bolts. imho, there is no best oil, just the one works for you and your oci interval.

I guess my first question is best at what?

As you well know or hopefully you know---> A motor oil is ask and required to do many many many jobs.
Some oil's can handle these jobs very easily.
Others sometimes really struggle.
But in return you have to do your job as well to help the motor oil do it's job.

Spend many days or weeks reading this thread that I posted above most if not all of your questions will be answered and maybe possibly give you many more or hundreds of more things to even think about.
