This question is for owners of Ram's prior to 2013 with the mono/smaller EVIC. I recently purchased by 2011 Ram Laramie 5.7L and I am loving it so far. I have been leaving the fuel economy meter showing on my EVIC because it's really cool with a real time meter showing mpg. But I have been finding myself treating it like a video game to see just how high I can get the average MPG to go. My average after 2 weeks of mixed city/hwy driving is around 16mpg. The drawback is that I am not enjoying the power of this great Hemi V8 because I am obsessing about MPG.

So my question to the forum is --- what other mode do you leave showing on your EVIC? None of the other choices seem very useful or relevant. I like that the current XM station is displayed on the top of the list of menu choices, but that seems like a poor place to leave the display. Turning the menu "off" leaves a large blank screen with only compass direction, temp and mileage. I sure wish Dodge had given us more options. Why couldn't they display the radio/xm detail when the menu is off?

when I had my 12' I just always left up the mpg screen. however now that I know pretty much know what to expect mpg wise in my 13. I leave the EVIC displaying all the truck tempatures...

coolant / trans temp / oil pressure / im forgetting the last one lol

I don't abuse my truck, but I find it informative how my truck is actually running.

I wish our display could show multiple temps, but it only shows one at a time. Seems kind of weird to only show one fluid temp constantly.

It is really blurry but with the 7 inch in dash display you can see all those temps at once.

well for me I have a programmer and that adds to my gauges. usually its oil temp or oil pressure. I never have it on MPG one. I dont want to know how crappy a truck mpg is since i can't keep my foot out of it

You know I kinda was upset when I found our the 2013s do that.

But it's not a hug deal, once your up to operating temp cursing. They really dont change all that much.

It is cool though...lol
