Greetings all...

I am putting the finishing touches on an order for a new 2021 1500 Classic crew cab 4WD with the 5.7L V-8.

I've read several folks here suggest going with 3.92 gears instead of the highway gears. Is there a big difference in fuel mileage or acceleration between the two? I don't do much towing and what little I do is pretty light weight. With 4WD low range, I don't know why I'd ever need the low rear-end gears. And, with an 8-speed transmission it doesn't seem like the low gears would do much besides make you run higher rpm at highway speeds.

So, why do so many folks wish that had 3.92 axle ratio?

Other options I'm not sure if I should order or not:

1. Rear window defroster
2. factor bed liner.

What do you think of those two options?

Thanks in advance!

OK. Nevermind my question on the axle ratio. I see a 22pg argument on the subject in the engine & performance subforum. I can find all the discussion on need on that topic within that thread. Sorry I asked!

What about LT AT tires vs. the P tires. The reason I want a truck is mostly because of the off-road use - driving through fields trapping beaver and coyote, cutting firewood... crap like that. So, I really wanted the A/T tires instead of the all-season tires. But what will I lose going with LT tires instead of P tires? Will I lose ride and mileage.

You can get the same price for the bed liner, whether the dealership does it, or after you get the truck, just drive it to Line-X

Check to see what it cost when it is done at the factory

When i ordered my current truck, i wanted it ASAP, so i had it sprayed at my local Line-X store

If you order the rear window defroster, the back window will be a 1 piece glass.
If you don't order the rear window defroster, you can get the sliding rear window
