Used to tow my 18ft boat (3500-4000lb) with a 04 2.7L tacoma. 70mph? nah, couldnt do it without breaking 4k rpms. 60mph all day long was ok but with an hour one way as my drive, and was getting maybe MAYBE 7-8mpg. If I had to stop it in a hurry, I knew I couldnt. Could quickly and easily become a bad situation all around.

Upgraded in february to a 2019 1500 Classic 5.7, finished fixing the boat trailer (it was in terrible condition and set up entirely wrong to begin with) and finally drove to the coast instead of a quick river trip (i live 5 minutes from the St Johns river, or an hour from saltwater). Found out my new truck tows this thing like a dream, is comfortable and even better, I can stop the damn thing if i need to.

18 5.7 1500, tow 2018 Keystone 26 BHSS. dry weight around 6500, tanks filled, loaded etc around 7500lbs. Use load leveling hitch, good brake control. When on the interstate set the cruise on 70-75, otherwise I look down and after a while with light traffic it creeps to 80 or so...tows like a dream..stops great, its all in gearing and load distribution.

Just got a 2020 Ram 1500 Warlock, first truck I ever drove going from 2 sonatas back to back. I will say I am very disappointed in myself for getting the V6 but I was a little intimidated by the Hemi at first. I am adapting quick and loving the ride, I have a question for anyone about possibly towing a travel trailer with the 2020 V6 Warlock. Is this realistic and any suggestions for a small enough camper this truck can tow?

Welcome to the Forum! You can certainly pull something up around 7000lbs all in, which depending on the TT manufacturer probably puts you in a nice 24' - 28' trailer. What's your gearing (that matters)? Do you have the factory trailer brake (if not, you should get an aftermarket). Your payload with the v6 is a bit higher than the Hemi, IIRC you're at around 1600lbs so that's a bit of an increase in max tongue weight, but you need to factor in people and gear in the truck. There's more, and there's lots of good towing info on this Forum, the search bar is your friend.

Or instead of aftermarket brakes controller go get a factory one and have it installed and flashed. Much cleaner look. Step-son had that done on his 2019. But either will work. I'm 6' tall and always bang my knees off the aftermarket ones

I had my dump trailer loaded with soil and with the load and trailer's weight, it came out right around 9200lbs. It's not physically big so minimal wind load which is helpful. I wasn't gonna win any drag races, but seemed to haul it relatively smooth and kept up with traffic just fine.

2-3 tonnes several times this week. both up and down the water and land transport. The RAM made it easy!

Towed this with my 2013 1500 but upgraded to a 2500 last year. Boat and trailer combo weighed 8800 with all tanks empty.

This is the biggest thing we've towed behind our 2018 Ram 1500 4x4!

2019 Forest River Cherokee Grey Wolf 22RR... good lord is that a long name! 28' 10" long and 10' 6" height.

It's about 5K Lbs dry and GVWR is about 7680.

Pulled it all the way from Mesa AZ to Cuivre River state park in Missouri so my mother in law could meet her newly born Great Grandson in person!

We had the fresh water full on the way up and kept it topped off after each stop. Took 3 days(two over night stops) to get there. Very little sway thanks to the Weight Distribution hitch and Trailer Sway bar.

The truck seemed to pull it fine at most of the posted speed limits. Temps got a little hot but I have nothing to compare it to other than my own experience towing with this truck.
Coolant temps high was about 221
Trans temp high, 190
Oil Temp High, 270( on the way back when a friend was driving the truck and pushing up a hill harder than I've done so far driving)
Oil Pressure, 60psi

Average of those were more like
Coolant Temp 215
Trans Temp 185
Oil Temp 253
Oil Pressure 57psi

Mix of low octane and high octane gas used during the trip. Couldn't really see a correlation between temps and mpg using high or low octane but my "butt dyno" says the high octane drove smoother than when using low octane.

Towed the Unimog and trailer (9500 lbs ) 8 times now. Truck is rated for 9950 llbs. Trailer ihas 8 lug 16" rims with big brakes so it stops good.Truck has no issurres even in 115 heat. I do keep trips under 1.5 hours long. 118309840_3046382545470480_3133493364490409559_o.jpg 118247963_3046382475470487_7614178287318056207_o.jpg

Probably too much. 14x6 tapered front packed with cabinets and tools. Definitely 10k+. It does have the 3.92 but still pushing it

We recently got a new trailer. Was a little worried with how big it was, but it hauls pretty decently. Just need to find a semi to hide behind on the highway if I want any MPG.

Just for the heck of it, I was wondering what the biggest/heaviest things you've towed with your Ram 1500?

I'll start with trailering my Jeep behind the truck. Anywhere more then 100~ miles, I'll trailer the Jeep incase I break something.

P.S. U-haul car haulers don't distribute the weight very well on shorter wheel base vehicles.
