Whats biggest thing you've towed with your 1500?

This Little Guy that I just purchased. I’m just a newbie so this is enough for me to learn on. 3200 lbs dry weight. I told you I was a light weight BTW, I don’t have a Weight Distribution Hitch. From these pictures do you think I need one? This is all new to me!

Shouldn't need one for only 3200lbs but if you feel any sway or are uncomfortable then go to a CAT scale and see how close your weights are

Bought a 2019 1500 Classic 5.7, 3.92 to replace my 2010 Colorado. Pulling a Wolf Pup (dry weight ~3K). First time pulling it other than bringing it home from storage. Short trip, less than an hour, on twisty, hilly back roads to local camp ground. Its like it's not even back there

I have a 2013 Outdoorsman 5.7. 3:55 ratio old 6 speed, outdoorsman comes with the towing package and transmission cooler etc. Been towing a 3,600 pound travel trailer. At the campground people were saying I shouldn't tow anything around 26 feet that stopping will be scarey(all have Ford f-150s around 2018 or newer). I was looking at max dry weight of 7,000 pounds, now I am not sure, I always empty all tanks etc and store any extras in my bed. Specs show I can tow max 8,850 from Ram. The little v nose camper I tow now doesn't even make the rear go down, sits normal towing can go 90 plus over steep pass, if I wasn't worried about tires on the trailer, since is a single axle so I keep it to max 70mph. Also I have a 2wd. I have kyb shocks and would use weight distribution hitch and I am using the factory trailer brake controller and tow with it in tow/haul mode.

Not a Ram but my step-son has a 2020 Tundra with 4.30's and about a 9600lb tow capacity. This spring he bought a 2021 Grand Design Imagine 3250BH. I towed it home from the dealer 100 miles away with my 2500 (6.4) and we weight it. It came in at 9300lbs but the dealer had the fresh water tank full and we didn't know that (52 gallons). I brought it back to his house then he towed it to his camp about 20 miles away. Today he brought it back home and is leaving Wednesday to go camping about 2 hours away from here. He scaled it the day he towed it to camp (with fresh water tank full) then scaled it again today with the tank empty but the truck and TT were loaded as they will be on the trip except his wife was not in the truck (she weighs about 120lbs). He did adjust the 'L' brackets up one hole to add a little pressure on the bars. His GAWR rear is 4100lbs and he was over by a couple of hundred the first time. After emptying the tank and adjusting those brackets it got the rear back under max. He is over payload still but said he hopes to be upgrading to a 2500 next year. He has not weighed his truck alone so we don't have starting weights but we had 1100lbs tongue weight with mine and the trailer weighed the same with his that first day so he still had 1100lbs tongue weight before moving the brackets. Hard to tell for sure now cause he emptied the tank and had stuff loaded in the truck the 2nd time, etc.

Just for the heck of it, I was wondering what the biggest/heaviest things you've towed with your Ram 1500?

I'll start with trailering my Jeep behind the truck. Anywhere more then 100~ miles, I'll trailer the Jeep incase I break something.

P.S. U-haul car haulers don't distribute the weight very well on shorter wheel base vehicles.

2016 30 foot grand design. 8600 lbs all the way to Maine and back to FL.

Bought a new 4x4 1500 Hemi with 3.92 gears in March of last year. I also put in after market air lift and integrated brake control. Payload was 1900, GCWR was 17,000 and max tow was 11,800. I later bought an Arctic Wolf 5W that was 8400 dry with a hitch weight of 1250. To be honest, it only took 30 lbs of air to be level and Ram pulled the 5W very nicely. Always stable and had no issues with steeper climbs. Over 5 months I pulled it about 2500 miles since we are full timers.
Skip ahead to early this year and we planned a cross country trip and since I knew I was near my max on payload and GCWR I sold the 2019 and bought a ‘21 2500 Hemi with 4.10’s. After a 7,000 mile journey I couldn’t be more pleased with the 2500.
So….I will say my 1500 did a remarkable job and I had no issues with it comfortably pulling the 5W. I made the change for peace of mind and the terrain of SD, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, etc.

I have changed the rear springs use a Reese Dual-cam weight distribution hitch and still have problems getting it level I wish it still had leaf springs and front torching bar suspension

31' Travel Trailer. 3.92 rear but pretty close to max capacity on the Longhorn. Recently got a 2020 Rebel 2 WD which increased our capacity by 2,000 lbs. Love it!

Most I've towed so far with my 2009 4x4 with 3.92s was this 1961 Plymouth Belvedere. Truck has bags in the springs but they leak so didn't do much good. I hadn't tried them before but they were on there when I got it. Towed great anyway.

What model Grand Design? My son has a 2018 2670MK and step-son has a 2020 3250BH. I have towed both of them

Ours is a 3100RD. Lots of room and a good quality RV. Still about as big as I’d want to tow with a 1500.

It ain't much but it's honest work have only owned the 1500 trx4 for about a week and logged its first tow for me. 30 CMUs and 20 80lb concrete bags. Going back tomorrow for 70 more CMU and about 20 more 80lb bags of mortar.
