Some impressive tows, how about payload hauling in the bed? For me, the two heaviest I have done two loads of flooring, one was about 1600lbs and another about 2600lbs both 225 miles up through the mountains including some decent grades. Squat in the back wasn't bad at all considering and I was able to maintain 70+mph with no strain whatsoever.

Got 13.5mpg on the lighter run and about 12.X on the second, can't remember the exact fuel economy. I was impressed with the stability with load in the rear.

My old F250 felt sketchy with a one ton load of pellets in it, this was night and day.

Others have similar experience?

45 cases of pergo flooring at 24#s per case would be 1,080, plus 10,000 #s of building material on a 6,000# trailer.

no squat, and certainly wasn't slowed down. Braking was hindered a touch of course...

I stopped at a DOT scale on our way yesterday. We may or may not have been within a supersized #1 of exceeding GCWR. A 3500 may be in my future. Until then, no more twinkies. :)

How much did your truck scale at per axle?

19,500 total. The wife entered the # on her calculator as we went so I don't have the individual axle weights. The trailer axles was 9800 I think. 637 miles later and I'm still in MT.

Where you headed? FUnny that you have gone 637 miles and are still in MT. Done something similar driving through Texas. GOIng to be heading to Sheridan, WY for three days and then a week between Bozeman and Big Sky on the Gallatin River.

Back in service...

I went to college in Bozeman. (Go Cats!) It's a beautiful area. How are you getting there from Sheridan?

So my father has a 2012 3500 DRW Cummins. He hasn't had a 5er since he retired, sold his Alfa Gold and got a bumper pull toy hauler. He never liked the separate garage of the 5er TH because the living room/kitchen area was always so cramped. He liked the open floor plan THs for the room.

I was killing time out of town and cruised the RV lot and seen a 5er with double slide out and told him about it.

He went ro look and is now the owner of a Cyclone 3611. It is *only* 40' and GVWR of 17,000 because he didn't want to go to 44'. I don't know why. He has his Class A and doubles/triples endorsement. But this bad boy has more living space than those 44' because of the layout and that double slide. It's a 24" slide inside of a 30" slide that moves the 4 seat couch completely out of the main body even when reclined!

Old pic of my '10 that I no longer have, it is a 4th gen HD though :favorites13:

EDIT: trailer was 7,300 lbs loaded, had about 500lbs of supplies and what not in the bed. This pick was taken in front of my Uncle's house on Long Island.......needed a dry place to stay while his home was repaired after Sandy. Pulled like a beast from ATL to NY!

Traded my 24 footer in for this 34' TT. Probably about 8000 loaded. Using an Equalizer hitch, pulls nice..

I've been hauling lots of firewood!

Also hauled a few loads of limestone. This one really squatted the truck when it was full!

Judging by how high the pile is that looks like a lot of limestone. Do you know the weight?

I don't know the weight but a yard of limestone weighs ~2300 lbs. This was a little over a yard so probably around 2700 lbs.
It squatted around 2-3 inches.

about 16K with mine. Hauled my broken F350 home on a 8K lbs trailer.

A little dodgy down some canyons in Utah. But the exhaust brake was awesome.

Oh I bet the exhaust brake sounded pretty sweet echoing through some of those canyons.
