2019 1500 5.7, 55,500 miles.

For the most part this truck has been great to me aside from the leaking rear window... this morning however, I heard a knock type of sounds that I never noticed before... I'll try to get a recording of it later when I have someone to step on the pedal for me.. but it is concerning.. I do regular oil changes, Mobil one synthetic, checked the oil and its fairly clean honestly..
But what is the engine warranty on these trucks? 60k? Is there a special extention or anything on cam and lifters? Just want to know so when I take it to the dealer I have the proper Ammo so they don't screw me..

I would think that would fall under your powertrain warranty, which is 60k but I think only 5 years so you are either really close on years or possibly past. The other trick is I believe they charge a diagnostic fee to see if something is wrong and if they determine its not then you are just out that fee cost.

Yeah, I don't mind paying the fee for the peace of mind. I'm definitely under on the miles, just not sure of the year.. it looks like I am over, but who knows how they do it. Have an appt Thursday. I really hope it's just me being paranoid honestly. Lol

If you're on the edge of your warrenty running out,and they know it,they'll tell you nothings wrong, hoping your warrenty will expire before it becomes an issue, then you're on the hook for the bill :waytogo:

Oh I know the dirty tricks. Lol then they won't get the business. Friend has a shop about an hour from me, I'll take it to him for half the cost. Lol

I don't blame the dealers as much,as i blame Stellantis, they've made it to the point where the dealers have a hell'va time getting warrenty approval from head office

*UPDATE* dealer had the truck for a week, they could not determine an issue, whether it was the bottom end, or lifter failure or manifolds.. they said everything was fine although the engine is seemingly more noisy then normal..

They mentioned possibly a loud injector, I think that's a bit far off, but I suppose it could be an issue.. im running this tank of fas out and refilling ot with 93 and see if it changes things. I'm at a loss at this point, I can't figure it out.. but I'll be doing an oil change soon and sending a sample out to Blackstone. Also, grabbing a stethoscope so I can listen to some things.. So I guess drive it until it eats itself. Lol
