I own a 2015 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman 4x4. Purchased new and just hit 8500 miles. Today I developed an extremely loud high pitched squeeling and metal clunking sound from the front left wheel. Sounds like it's coming from directly where the wheel attaches to the hub assembly underneath the rubber boot. Going to bring it in to the dealer tomorrow but I'm nervous to drive it. I'm thinking it may be a bad bearing but the vehicle only has 8500 miles. **** I should have stayed loyal to Ford and bought another new Ford instead. (just kidding) Anyone else have any bearing issues with a new Ram?

Hi drtack,

I'm so sorry to hear about this! Please keep us posted on the outcome at the dealership and let me know if there's anything I can do to be of assistance!

So I decided to pull the front left tire and examine and couldn't see anything wrong at all. I put the tire back on and than the loud squeeling clanking noise returns. I live 3 miles from the dealershiip so drove on it to the dealership and about half way there the sound completely dissaperaed and vehicle seems fine now. ????? COULD i HAVE HAD ROCKS IN MY BRAKE ? i SURE HOPE THATS ALL IT WAS. For now I'm going to see if it happens again, but holy crap was it making a hell of a racket. I've never heard anything that loud.

Yep, happened to a friend of mine. Had a rock stuck between brake pad and rotor. Check the outside and inside face of the brake rotor for marks/grooves. His had a nice groove cut on the face of the rotor but luckily it wasn't to deep and was machined/turned out.

Rock stuck in the brake is not all that uncommon. Happened to my wife while I was away on business travel and told her to take it in to the dealer and cost me an hour of shop time labor for the diagnosis.
