somehow managed to strip one on the rear yesterday. anyone know how easy they are to replace? also if someone could point me to the right replacement that'd be great. searched a few sites but came up with a lot of different sizes

I've had to replace one of mine. Was able to get it done without pulling the rear axle. Dealership stripped one then it snapped when I was getting my tires rotated

U do not have to pull anything but the caliper off. I was able to get it in without having to pull anything apart. U will have enough gap behind the hub to replace it. U can take a cutting wheel to the stripped stud and remove a small portion so u do not hit the back when u hammer it out. Then for the new stud u can cut off the portion of the stud that doesn't have any thread on it and u will be able to slip in in. Without cutting the unthreaded part of the new stud off you will have to pull the rear axle to replace. I confirmed with the dealer before I did mine and it was the dealer mechanic that cut the stud for me.

Maybe a part that you should pick up from the dealer. For most hardware that is the best source.

i'm gonna have to take a closer look but pulling the entire axle seems a bit much just to replace a stud. whoever designed that needs a big boot in the ass

Ya absolutely! I did get my hardware from the dealer as I wanted to make sure the stud would be exactly the same. But it is possible!

pulling the axle shaft is actually pretty simple. might even be faster/easier then trying to finagle the stud in there while its still in place. plus if you have a good amount of miles its a good excuse to change the rear diff fluid.

was at the dealer today and grabbed a new stud. asked about putting it in and was told there's a certain spot you can get them in and out without having to take anything apart aside from the caliper and no cutting involved. gonna try to find a new set of lugs before i put it in, stock ones seem pretty ******
