So I have made the decision to move forward with the Catch Can Mod. My issue is that I am not sure which brand to go with. I like the BT Catch Can and the way it looks. If I go that route, I will spring for the Blue one with braided hoses and color matched ends along with nickel fittings. As far as looks, this configuration is the hands down winner IMHO.

I have also read that the Moroso Catch Can is a good one too because of the drain valve at the bottom. This might just be me, but I would think it'd be better to be able to pull the bottom of the can off to dump the contents rather than having to crawl under the truck to access the drain and then splash this nastiness when I'm draining it. I also think it might be beneficial to be able to see the contents.

Also,I really like the kind that have the little filters on the top of them. Are there any draw backs to these kind? Any help would be appreciated.

sounds like you have your mind made up about getting the BT can. I like mine alot. I do wish it had a drain valve. I would still actually look in the can every couple times that I drained it, but would use the drain the other half. It could be done to the BT can just by drilling and tapping the bottom. Just put a real short hose and use a bottle to catch the oil from the top. You are def tall enough to reach there to drain it. And I think the BT has the screen in it like you are talking about. Not sure about the Mororso can but I'd almost bet money it has it too. You can also put a small 1/2'' spacer on the BT z bracket to get it a little farther away from the block/head to make it easier to wrap your hands around behind it to unscrew it.

Both the BT and Moroso have the screen filters.

If you have either one with a drain valve on the bottom you'd be best to attach a bit of hose off that so you can drain it right at street level without splashing.

Seems the BT is the favorite around here, but the member/vendors carry both so you can support them through either decision.

I think you are good either way.
BT and Moroso are both good.

Some people even make their own.

Any Can is better than no Can :)
(As long as it works)

I went with the BT Can.
I like the looks and the mount.

I didn't know of the Moroso at the time I purchased my BT.
Knowing of it, and it's different design, I'd still purchase the BT unit.

I am the type of person that would rather clean up and spray out the catch can when I empty it than rely on it to all filter out through a tube.

It's your truck; do it your way.

That being said, both BT and Moroso do the same function. So do the adapted Husky or Kobalt compressor air filter housings. The real difference is convenience to you, appearance and ease of maintenance.

I just emptied my BT can for the second time since June. It takes little mechanical aptitude and spinning off the bottom is simple (as long as you remember righty-tighty is lefty when viewed from above). Each time I pour out about 1.5-2 oz of black stinky yiltch (technical term) that I would never want passing through my TB.

So do not catch paralysis through analysis--just buy the darn thing already. :guile-1:

If you like the drain on the Moroso but the looks of the BT...drill and tap the BT can and add a drain. Problem solved and you get the best of both worlds.

I went with the BT because of the color options. I like the look and location.

But like many have said, as long as you have one and it works.
