I understand what your saying, but we both know 1 7/8ths is over kill. Doesn't matter if it's a 5/6 speed, 8 speed, or 20 speed, if you every see under 4000 rpms at wot, you will be affected negatively by the larger primarys at our power level

In theory you are correct. I don't even run 1 7/8 on my Shelby truck, which it actually needs I might add. These new VVT Hemis also have an active runner intake manifold for best low end torque and top end power. I have talked to Ryan about this and he said with the headers he can tweak the bottom end if need be to recuperate any low end loss from the bigger primary. My truck already has a substantial increase in low end now just from his tune so even worse case scenario the truck will lose a little low end it has now and still be much better than stock. But you are correct and I agree 100% that these trucks don't need a 1 7/8 primary I am not willing to fork over the cash for Stainless or ARH. Now if you drop me $700 out of your pocket to help buy longtubes I will gladly get some ARHs lol. :roflsquared:

What are you shifting out at mike?!?! 6000-6200?
6000 rpms now. When I ran last at Ennis I was shifting at 5700 rpms because of a TB closure issue but that's figured out now. My shift recovery on 33" tires is above 4500 which is above max torque if I'm not mistaken.

You buy me some 1 3/4 longtubes and ill prove it. I know youre not going to buy both and test the theory. No one on here will prove which one is better.

From what I can tell between the 1 3/4 and 1 7/8 guys that run at the track, it is too close to tell which one is better and from the 8 spd standpoint I haven't heard of people losing low end torque like some people do when they just chop off the stock muffler. Just an observation I have seen so far.

I'm putting a procharger on my truck. So the 1 7/8 and cheaper price was a big bonus for me !

I never said 1 7/8 is better but theres no proof that 1 3/4 is worth the extra $$$. The under 4000 wot loss is bs because my 60' went from 1.83-1.78 when i added the longtubes.

Don't turn this truck into the Red one lol. Full bolt-ons and I'm done. I suggest the same for you. :favorites13:

Damn that is a significant difference. What about day to day driving? I spend most of my time around 1700-1900rpms on the highway.

I never said you will lose low end from factory to 1 7/8ths, you will still gain through out, just that 1 3/4 will gain more low end and maintain the same top end.

Eventually. Later on down the road. After the drive train warranty is up. I would like to supercharge my ram. Should I hold off on headers until then or will 1 3/4 be enough if I was to buy them now.

With forced induction you want the best flow possible . 1 7/8 will be better for that. 1 3/4 will be just fine if that's what you want.

As far as I know there isn't numbers that actually say on a Ram Hemi that 1-3/4" will produce a touch more performance than the 1-7/8" and like Sicmadek said, no one is going to spend money to run both on their truck just to prove it. Honestly it would have to be on the same truck too since we've seen first hand that some trucks are just damn fast off the lot whereas others are a bit more normal.
