I thought those only got rambox beds? Super pricey too, for the ones I've found at least.

Hmmm did not know that. If I end up pulling the trigger I'll have to look into that. I am leaning towards a hitch mount rack. Most time when I run out of room Is when I am heading to the woods for the weekend or off fishing. Would be nice to put the ice chest or firewood on there.

For that cheap I'd go that route. The amp one is nice for keeping stuff close to the tailgate like toolboxes, gas cans, groceries or w.h.y, but when you need more cargo space it flips out and latches into the tailgate.View attachment 163599 View attachment 163600
Pics won't load for me. But that's one of my main draws to the amped. Keep thibgs from rolling around, especially with the way I drive [emoji847]

They should come up. Not linked. Uploaded them straight from my camera. Maybe just lagging on the load time. I Also welded these up so I can tie pretty much anything down and added bull rings to tie stuff down on top of the tonneau.15558616186292894568917305929024.jpg 15558616638465471328619537714581.jpg

Yeah it would be nice but I find myself with stuff just big enough that it takes the whole bed with the tailgate shut. That's why i am on the fence bed extender would get in the way. I also have a truck tool box that I store extra stuff in which is nice

So do I, but I organize around it and if its in the way I just pop it out and throw it on top or in my garage depending on circumstances. It's just d-locked in.tilt it up and pull it out .1555862079629294581201968469635.jpg 15558621187188630782175486948213.jpg

Those look good too! Pics worked. I'm making a semi removable box set up right now. Secure enough you can't steal without tools but I can easily remove in about 1 min if I need bed space.

This is my current conundrum. Lots of dead space with this. Ideally this box will end up being the "in and out" box loaded with essentials spending on the trip and I'll load it in between the bed extender and tailgate. Still in the market for a true chest tool box, but they are freaking expensive and with how often I truly need that much space it's kinda pointless to buy a 500$ box that fits snug. It would look better but I have no love lost for $60 all in. I'll get some longer turnbuckles.

I'm really thinking about making my own set of "ram box" style storage out of wood and leaving this for my quick load needs.

Yeah tool boxes are expensive. I have a cheap one from my old Ford ranger. It was massive on my ranger but fits super nice in my truck now. Just saw it at home depot $250 still cheap. Held up great over the year really.

All the ones i had available would have hit the wheel well humps. I thought I got away with a nice 56" one from tractor supply only for it to be like 1" too big overall. Fit perfect on the tailgate side of the humps but was a hair too big to go in front. So, this is what I ended up with, I'll tweak it a little more than prob just let it be. It's redneck but it works.

Shows just how much narrower the ranger was

Lol yes it does. The tool box barely fit on it and took up 3/4 of the rear window. The tool box was made for a Toyota bed spec. It was a go-cart but one of the best vehicle I've ever driven in the snow/ice.

Yeah I ran into that issue also that's why i kept my old one. Protech makes them with wheel well notches but they are $750 new you can find used ones on Facebook or craigslist and or offer up for around $400 but they go quick.

I'd hate to have to do smaller loads of firewood. A short bed would just drive me nuts.
