My 2cents.. If you live in a snowy climate I would go with a board instead of the tubular ones with the step pads. I had the tubular ones originally on the truck and they were cool looking but.. first winter and multiple times my kids slipped on them getting out of the truck (missed the pads). I went with an aluminum board and love them. Full length rubber pad. My other advise, get ones that have some width to them. With a decent width you end up with body side protection from most cars and crossovers.. their doors are lower therefore if a jerk parks next to you, they will ding their own doors by swinging them out and hitting the board before the truck...ask how I know..

Buy the mopar running boards. Stainless steel and built to last. Very happy with them.

Been down this road and I can tell you nothing is more sturdy than factory boards. Their brackets are MUCH more sturdy than aftermarkets. I weigh about 225 and the ones I had on the 2016 flexed way too much for my taste.

If your going to do it, do it right with power running boards. That's the way to go. I love them!
The problem with regular boards they are at the same height as the truck floor so your not gaining much. The power units drop down like a step to get into the truck. Much better.

No they aren't. The Mopar boards are at least 6" lower than the floor.

I’m 6’ 190 and have no problem getting in the 4X4 CC. Both of my teens are tall too. My wife is 5’3 and hates the truck and the outdoors so we leave her at home. Less expensive all around! Lol

My wife has been on me since I got the truck (she's 5'4") to get steps, even worse since I lifted the truck 1-1/2". Looking into this myself. I want something that is tucked up tight to the rocker, which is probably considered a running board.

I'm a autobody technician and I see alot of rusted out running boards!! Aluminum are the best unless it's a pair of heavy thick walled steel boards. The thin so called "Stainless" boards rust in no time. Same as the factory metal ones. I have a set of 4 Mopar steps on mine and have had for over 3+ years now and the only wrong with them is the paint has peeled off. They are aluminum as well. Do your research andwatch out for similar boards on other trucks. Their condition(s) will tell the story.

These are 6" wide from Iboard. They are open on the bottom but very stiff. They look good but are noisey in wet road conditions. Even with the weathertech mud flaps. For that reason, I wouldn't recommend them. They let you know they are wet when going through any standing water. My 89 year old mom loves them for their stability and ease of entry.

Here is the ebay link to them for a quad cab.

Here's a picture of them installed on a 2018 quad cab.
