I just used it on a 1500 mile round trip so the young’uns would have Wi-Fi. Worked well, but I have not tested actual throughput or range.

Any reason to even use that instead of just turning on mobile hotspot on your phone ?

None, that's all it is anyway, just a built in hotspot running over cell service. The only benefit I could see is that some phones don't allow multiple devices to connect.

Really? I thought that was for Bluetooth. Wifi is multiple isn't it?

WiFi (or any network router) can be limited to a certain number of connected devices.

I just threw my iPhone on hotspot and my kids n wife connected with no problem. So it’s probably some but not all. Or maybe it’s a carrier thing. In an effort to sell you a dedicated mobile hotspot unit

Yeah, it might depend on the phone/carrier. Never tried to connect more than 1 thing at a time on mine so I've never tested.

Anyone having a problem with their Wifi? I cannot see my truck hotspot in my iphone list of connections. I checked the box on my truck radio that says "Enable Wifi" but still cannot see my truck hotspot. Please help!

Hi Rods Ram,
I understand why this would be frustrating. Have you tried contacting AT&T Customer Care at 866-595-1330? If this does not solve your concern, please send us a private message so we can look into this further for you.

Why would they suggest calling ATT? I thought it's Sprint in the truck!

Depends on where you are maybe? Sprint's coverage around here is spotty at best.

I do yes.

Even if I didn't have a subscription, should I at least be able to see the hotspot listed, just not connect to it?

I don’t believe so, it requires a data plan subscription (like adding a data line to phone plan) so if you don’t have one for the Uconnnect there is “nothing there” for the truck to show (if that makes any sense).
