It’s two generations old 3G WiFi in my ‘16 Ram - no incentive for me to use that (and pay additional for the privilege) vs. the hotspot on my iPhone that has LTE. When I go out of town I hide my iPad that shares data on my AT&T account in the truck and turn on its hotspot - that way my 4 dashcams can connect to it via WiFi when I’m parked overnight at a hotel, which allows me to view any of the cameras in the truck from my phone at any time and the cameras can also automatically upload any incidents to the cloud.

I don’t believe so, it requires a data plan subscription (like adding a data line to phone plan) so if you don’t have one for the Uconnnect there is “nothing there” for the truck to show (if that makes any sense).
So anyway I DO have a subscription yet I still can't see it in my phone wifi list. Any ideas?

Alright, that’s a good a thing. You have the WiFi app visible to select, correct?

And again, I don’t mean to be insulting or belittling with these questions, trouble shooting 101, just starting with the basics to confirm whatcha got before moving on to whatever’s next. I don’t want to assume anything.........

No insulting or anything like that taken man. This is great! :) Yes I have the app visible, then I click on the "Enable Wifi" checkbox to turn it on. So after I do that, it should pop up in my phone and it doesn't.

What do you see once you “click” the WiFi hotspot app? I ask ‘cause I don’t have a subscription and get this:

It shows the wifi hotspot name, password, and type of security like WPA2. And the check box of course to enable wifi. It's like the radio isn't transmitting a signal to my phone for me to connect to it. My hotspot name doesn't not show up in my iphone connections list.

Out of curiosity, have you had anyone else check if they “see” your truck hotspot avaialble on their device?

My situation is fixed. AT&T had to update their system to match my radio specs and bam, good to go finally.
