I have a 2012 ram 1500 with a 4.7 v8 and it has been giving me trouble for a while. So I brought it to my dodge dealership and they said my heads and block are warped and are not fixable. They wanted 8 grand for a new 4.7 motor. I'm never getting another engine like that because it had no power and could barely pull a trailer. So what I want to know is if I can get a used 5.7 hemi and swap that in my truck. Would it bolt up to my transmission and could it handle the power that the hemi will put out? Would have to get a 5.7 ECU? What would it entail to do that?

It'll bolt up,and it's the same RFE transmission as the Hemi has.Putting a 5.7 in where a 4.7 was,has been done,but that's about all I can tell you though.

I don’t know how your 4.7 is so weak it couldn’t pull a trailer. Mine can with ease. 8K for a new one is way too much.
