I'm having issues that I have narrowed down to my ignition switch. For a few months I noticed when I would try to start the truck, it would take some wiggling of the fob for it to recognize something was there and then start. Last week I got train horns installed and my truck starts dying while I'm driving or turning. The dash would go black and then lose power steering- it shut off while still in Run. Thought since it was cold, maybe too little gas. Did it again with a full tank. I started noticing that it would die when I turned and my lanyard would move it, so I removed the lanyard and it stopped for a couple days. I figured it was a dead battery because then the fob wouldn't lock it when it was right next to it. Changed that out and didn't fix the issue. I even have the truck wait to start until the )z( light goes off, helped some-but wasnt the fix. Last night in a parking lot I barely touched the fob and the dash did its thing, shut off then lit back up-all the lights on like I had just started it. Went onto a ram group on facebook and found a guy that described my exact issue and confirmed my theory- ignition switch. I had been having to wiggle the fob for months, and my excess weight on the lanyard didn't help - learned the hard way that it wore it out faster....
Now I tried to contact mopar to get the part number for the WIN module but they couldn't help me. I've been trying to find the right one online but am leery of scammy ebay junk. Then I will need new fobs. Has anyone reprogrammed a fob to their new WIN module? I'll have to get a locksmith to cut the blank key to my locks, but am looking to avoid any dealer intervention and do it myself at home. I do not want to solder my module like someone recommended in the group because those guys ended up having issues down the road.
