Wiring and stuff.

Not quite sure which section of the forum this would go in, but Ill try here. Move it if need be.

So Im going to be getting a new front and rear bumper. Iron Cross push bar front and the rear bumper. Someone will be installing it. But what I wanted to do afterwards, is put a couple of those Vision X Light Cannons on the bumper. My question is, how does the wiring and routing work? I managed to wire them on my four wheeler, but theres a lot less stuff there than my truck. Also, theres a couple spots where it looks like I could fit the light switches at inside the truck. Two unused spaces next to the Tow/Haul button that I could use maybe. Those unused spaces go to anything or are they unused as they look?

Oh, its a 2014 1500 Express.

There's a great place to run the wires into the cab just below the steering wheel, on the firewall. In the audio section most everyone that's running aftermarket amps are using it. It's actually for some part of the stick shift, which right at this second I can't remember why. I'll try and find you a link to the pictures.

'13+ trucks have a couple good options for running wires into the cab.

1: The clutch dead plate referenced above
2: There is a nipple below the main harness going into the cab, nip the tip and slide the wires through.

As for switches, pop off the center stack, 2 screws under the RAM piece at the top and pull straight towards the back of the truck. Take a look as to what's on the backside. Many 'good' locations are near impossible to access. :-/

So its the same concept for wiring lights? Me and electrical wiring dont get along too well.

Wire is wire. What it's trigger has nothing to do with it.

Next question. Are either of these two slots next to the tow/haul open for business or are they used for something that I'm not seeing behind the scenes? Would they be good places for the light switches or would I have to go elsewhere or make my own area?

As of right now you can not access these switches, as the back side of that switch panel is one big circuit board. There is a thread on here referencing 5aux switches in the bottom row of that switch bank. And the OP of that thread is working out the details as to being able to add this on aftermarket. From what I read of the post it is only available on 2500/3500 tradesman models I believe. I am subscribed to that thread in hopes that it comes available for other models as I am in need of a couple of aux switches and want to maintain factory look.

The 2 blanks directly to the right side of the trailer brake controller area are for the factory air suspension option.

The factory aux switch panel is actually for the 4500/5500 trucks, not even the 2500/3500s. :-(

So there's really no place for accessories with doing some modifications of the panels? Darn.
