here is my problem, Every time I turn the key over the truck runs for about 2 seconds then shuts off. It will crank and run if I disconnect the positive cable for a few minutes then re connect it for one start then I have to do it all over again. What the heck does this mean?

It sounds like isn't recognizing the key. It thinks you are trying to boost the vehicle. If you have a manual, it covers this and what to do.

I agree it sounds like it doesn't like your key. Have you changed keys or do you have another that you have successfully used before?
