Damn ok. So how about getting the2013 mirrors from 1aauto with the puddle lamps and blinker but just not having the codes flashed? Can I run those without throwing a code?
That's what I'd like to know as well. I'd rather not have blinkers and lights on my mirrors..

I've also read that a bracket and 3 more bolts are required to properly support them, but no mention of that at 1aauto at least that I found..

First off thank you for this thread, it really helped me. I had a successful swap with parts from 1A Auto so I can clear up a few things for everyone.

DOOR MODULES:
They DO NOT need to be changed. The part numbers are the same (at least for the 12-15 yrs).

SALES CODE FLASHING:
If you plug in the new mirrors and some features do not work, most likely you just have to flash the sales codes. I had to do this and it worked fine. I do suggest calling around to the dealerships in your area or however far you are willing to drive. I was quoted $65-175 so it will pay off. If you don't want to flash the codes, the functions that are currently flashed in your truck will work. Example: if you had heated, power adjust mirrors and you are upgrading to the heated, power adjust, turn signal, puddle light mirrors, then only the heat and power adjust will work on the tow mirrors. When flipped up, the controls will be 90 degrees off.

INSTALLATION:
Super easy! There is a video on youtube to take the mirrors off and the installation is the reverse. Took me 30 mins which most of the time was spent explaining how everything works to my buddy.

PARTS:
I bought the $330 tow mirrors with puddle lights, turn signals, and heat from 1A Auto. Exact fit and operation, extremely happy!

DEALER SWAPPING:
I spoke to every dealer in my area and everyone said that the mirrors cannot be swapped. They absolutely can, just they will not do it. I was curious how much the OEM parts would be and I almost died when they quoted me $999!

ERROR CODE & TEMP SENSOR:
For the '13-15 mirrors, they have the temp sensor in the driver side mirror. If you install a mirror without the temp sensor, it will show an erroneous temp on the EVIC and throw a code. Mirrors that do not have the temp sensor are '12 and older. You CAN put a '13-15 mirror on a '12 or older. As for error codes, if you install the new mirrors and do not wish to flash the computer, it WILL NOT display an error code. The only issue is that some features may not work on the mirror as described in the "SALES CODE FLASHING."

POWER FOLDING:
**I DID NOT DO THIS** Speaking with a few people and reading through the threads here, I know there is interest in swapping to a power folding mirror, and there is some confusion. The only info I can add is I heard a rumor that a '13-14 power folding mirror will not fit on a non-powerfolding mirror '13-14, but a '15 power folding mirror would fit on a '13-14. I do not know if this is true but if you did this or know it can be done please let us know!

I hope this helps clear some confusion! If you have any further questions please ask or if you can back up anything sound off!

When you flip your 1A Auto mirrors, into the upright position, do the mirror position controls still function, as designed, or are all your control off by 180 degrees?

The controls will be 90 degrees off. For example, when you flip up the driver side mirror and you push the RIGHT arrow, the mirror will move UP, since that is the flipped down direction. All it takes to correct this is to get the proper sales codes flashed. Hope this helps!

This is actually NOT correct. I literally just installed 1A Auto tow mirrors on my 1500 in place of regular power mirrors. When they are flipped up in the tow position, the mirror controls also flip. So now, when the mirrors are flipped up, the controls work exactly the same as if the mirrors were in the regular position.

Now, I'm not sure if it matters or not, but I don't have the blinkers or puddle lights. I didn't want to spend the extra $110 for them.

So if anyone is interested the sales codes to get the mirrors to adjust properly when they are flipped up, it is ( LEG ). I had this done on my 2014 bighorn when I installed tow mirrors. After flash worked properly. Hope this helps.

Thank you for posting this. These Ram trucks are tricky with sales codes.

Maybe you need the sales code for different model years? I guess I stand corrected. But like I stated in my previous post, I did not need to flash anything for the power adjustment to work properly when the mirrors are flipped up. Could have been because I didn't get the ones with turn signals/puddle lights? Or maybe it's an 09-12 thing? I'm not really sure. But mine were literally plug and play without any flashing/sales codes. :)

I think it depends on what the truck left the factory with for mirror options. We try to have our customers match all of the tow mirror features to the factory mirror features so that there aren't any issues.

Hi Bobbo7915

Do you know if they have ones that will work on a 2016 2500. Mine has the power fold with lights & heat, I was told you can't because the main wiring harnesses are different between the ones I have and the ones with tow mirrors.

Thanks RonG

I wish mine did that! It sounds like you may have one sales code already in our computer allowing the controls to work properly. Thanks for the input

Any ram pre 13 doesn't need sales codes flashed but in 13+ the require sales codes to get features to work that were added after it left the factory.

What would be a trailer tow, power fold, heated mirror with puddle, and signal lights that would fit 2010 RAM 2500? Thanks

I have power folding mirrors that aren't tow and desperately need tow mirrors. But I would like to be able to retain power fold. Sigh.

I tried it but no answer

Sorry just replied back.

HI Ron, I'm not sure if Ram has changed anything with the wiring or mounting surface on the 16 from the 2015.

Our manufacture hasn't updated the fit list to include the 2016 model year.

We have added a few new power fold SKUs to the site that fit the 2013-2015 Ram trucks. They are due to arrive at the end of June.

Here's a link to them if you would like to see what we have to offer.
