I know opinions are subjective, but sometimes you reach the point where you need help lol. I would like to know based upon the current look, if you would keep the sidesteps, or remove them. My daughters are teenaged and healthy so that's not an issue. Being as I am 6'2" I'm good, and the wife only rides with us on Sunday ( she's 5'1" ).

I was going to go stepless but then my OCD would kick in seeing every other truck with steps making me think hmmm I should get some steps

I personally like the no step look, what I would do is remove one side and step back and just look at it. Here is a pic of mine with no steps. The one thing I have to say about steps is they save the side of your seats.

If you don't like the nerf bar look (I don't except on lifted 2500s), but want side steps, replace them with AMP power steps.

One of the advantages of nerf steps on my 2500 is I never had a parking lot ding. They protected quite well.

I eventually added steps. My wifey hardly ever rides in my truck but really appreciates the step when she does. They do save the sides of the seats. They also prevent quite a lot of dirt from being thrown up on the side of the truck from the front wheels. They help prevent parking dings on the doors.

Good steps are $$$.

I vote to keep them.

So there are benefits but the truck looks better without steps, IMO.

I like the steps, I have them on my PW, they also block many stones from chipping your rockers

^^^^^^^ this!

Truck def looks better without them but man, the factory steps are perfectly placed to protect against door dings!!!!! It's what has kept me from swapping to the Amps!

install the Amp power steps. best of both worlds. nice big step when you need it, nice clean look when folded up.

Huh... not even.
Yeah I noticed that too. There's a lot of city users here who are pretty delicate with their pickups. Where I live you rarely see leather interiors or painted bumpers because everyone hunts and trucks are usually in the bush getting mud and blood all over them. I'm one of the few who drive a gasser let alone a 1500, lots of 2500 Cummins trucks or old farts with Laramies around me. I would've too but I hate the ride on the 2500s

I like the look better without steps, but I did install them on mine to help my daughter get in a little easier. It does keep stuff from flinging up on the side. Wish I had them on before the ...hole dinged my door. Lol. Keep em on

Well I can honestly tell you that I never purchased my truck to be used as such. I wanted a sturdy vehicle for picking up clients no matter what conditions. The plus behind it was it was cheaper to grab a 5 passenger truck then a comparable SUV lol. There's a reason why I keep the accounting firm that I currently use, as they e saved me a small fortune. My Ram is as basic as you can get as its cloth, basic radio from factory and no bells or whistles. Now I do have friends who have everything that they've offered in their trucks, and still take them off-roading. My lifestyle has always been suit and tie, and my personal interest have never required me to go off road.

Thanks to those who've voted either way as I truly appreciate the input. :)

To each their own I guess. I personally can't see how off-road could possibly be as much fun in a pickup as it is on deep woods trails you can't go in a pickup but can in a Jeep, or even better, a quad bike. One of these days I'll get around to buying a helmet cam and you'll see why. My truck's job is to haul my quad to the entrance of those trails

Well Betsy as I've aptly named her only roll is to get my daughters to and from their engagements lol. After that she's on her own. :)
