Good Evening Fellas,

I bought a set of TYC Projectors from Jeremy over at RetroShop. I had them do the blackout package on them which means they opened them up. Well, during the first hand wash (never goes through a carwash), I noticed a slight fogging in the lights. I emailed them as this was very concerning since I spent $1,600 on these lights and they produce quality work out of their shop. They emailed back and stated it was normal and because it was warm out and the water was so cold, it caused some fogging and would go away. They explained it like a mirror in a bathroom that fogs when you shower. Well, last Sunday (10/24/21) it was around 48-50 outside and low humidity and I drove the truck a few miles to my GF's 5k and then back home. Noticed a lot of fog on the inside. It cleared by the evening and I thought that MAYBE since it was the first coolish morning that I had driven it with the lights on, that is what caused it and it would be fine. No. Tonight it is 48 and a slight rain/mist and they are fogged up so bad. If this was "normal" then every single car on the road would have this issue. I have attached some photos to see if you guys would consider this "normal" or an issue. I say issue, but after all it is my truck and my $1,600.

I'll have to attach the photos below from my phone as the computer hates the files I saved them as.

Study up on the vents in the headlight housing
I don't know what position the vents are suppose to be in

I don't know who would have the answers, but they are there for a reason

I don't think they are suppose to be
all the way pushed in or all the way open

maybe they should be 1/2 way in

So you guys think it is just that the vent caps need to be adjusted? I appreciate the insight and will look into it.

I had trucklites (now Rigid) on my jeep and they actually had a little breathable water proof membrane over the vent hole. It was normal for them to fog a little under certain conditions but mostly they were clear.

I think it is more than vent caps otherwise it would of done it before. Perhaps they are no longer sealed properly when they were taken apart for mods. I have never had my headlights fog on any of the Rams I have had...which is 4. Maybe as simple as the gasket around the bulb socket ?

The original lights that came on my 2009 Dodge Ram, never had condensation as long as i drove it around southern California, Arizona, New Mexico & Texas.

Every year i drove back to Connecticut & 1 of them fogged up every time, it cleared back up when i returned home.
That same headlight was replaced after 5 years
The other headlight was still on the Ram when i sold it at 7 1/2 years

I am not making a conclusion, just a statement of fact.

So far, my 2016 Ram lights have not fogged up

So I spent the $80 and the several hours to take the lights out, send them back, get them back, and install them. DRLs are even now. Haven’t had any fogging. But it has been mostly cold now. I did notice that it seems like they sent me a completely different passenger side housing back though. The projector on that side sits like half an inch from the chrome ring and you can see inside the housing around the. The driver side isn’t even a quarter of an inch which looks normal. I know how to adjust the top half, but does anyone know if you can adjust the bottom to bring it forward? You can definitely tell the two are different.
