But's it's not another "show me your truck" thread. It's a "Show me a mod on your truck we don't see very often." These are mods people may make, but don't posts for whatever reason.
I don't fault the intention in any way, I get very tired of seeing the same 4"-6" lifts with 35s, a set of headlights, some tint, maybe some plasti-dip, and flipped up tow mirrors. I've been in the modern Dodge mod crowd since '08 and 90% of the modded trucks all look the same to me with variations in color and wheel selection.
The reality is, people want to feel good about showing off what they've done, even if there are 40 other threads about the same mod because they don't think theirs is the same as everyone else's. They might have a unique truck in their area but in the condensed world of online forums there can be 4 more just like it. Let's look at the ones posted up beside David's and mine:
Maybe not entirely unique, but it's certainly uncommon and has gotten the most attention thus far (headlights):

Is it unique? Not really since there's a company that is now mass producing boards to run a white DRL, but it still looks good. When I did my white DRL I was literally the first to do it and I had to cobble something together to make it work with my '13 headlights swapped into my '09; 6 months later there's 4 of them around me with Diode Dynamic's boards.
Small and cheap wow factor. 10 bucks at AutoZone.![]()
I think 'nuf said, $10 at AutoZone, but the owner wanted to show it off. Had he shaved the antennae off then it would be a cool mod because it's very rare and could have been classified as 'WOW'.
Not wow but different. Stock tail lights with the reverse tinted red and whole light tinted a bit darker![]()
OMG, red tinted taillights! ... brought to you by VHT Red Niteshades, another $10 at AutoZone. Had he painted with a tinted clearcoat to match the factory paint colour and only light up when activated then yes, that would be 'WOW'.
I know I'm coming off as a snob or an *******, not the first time I've been called either one, but who are we to say what is a WOW mod or not because to each owner every mod can be a wow mod to them. It's personal opinion and completely subjective. My brother saved for 3 months to buy a $200 CAI for his truck, he was very proud of it. He bought the CAI to match the $1800 fiberglass hood I gave him that I didn't want anymore (wrecked '07 truck and wouldn't fit on my '09).
